OPERATION WRITE HOME SKETCH CHALLENGE

Hello crafty friends! Today is Operation Write Home sketch day! I am also playing in the Dare to Get Dirty challenge at Splitcoaststampers, so I combined one of the SCS challenges with this sketch challenge to make this card:

The paper on this card is Prima Botanical, Spellbinders are behind the tag which has a digi from Little Musings and the sentiment was created on my computer.  The pretty carnation is from Inspired by Stamping.

Now for the challenges:

LESS IS MORE AND DARE TO GET DIRTY

Hi and thank you for stopping by my blog today! I am playing with Less is More again today and something NEW FOR ME!! I am playing with the Dirty Dozen at Splitcoaststampers in the Dare To Get Dirty challenge.

I knew I wanted to do a white-on-white card with this new Inkadinado Christmas stamp and when I saw the sketch at Less is More, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

I had an extremely hard time photographing this card, but I LOVE how it turned out! What do you think of that wreath? I have to give credit to Kittie Caracciolo (Kittie Kraft) for that gorgeous wreath. Her tutorial is here and I know I’ll be making more of these! Kittie, if you ever see this post, thank you so much for such a wonderful tutorial.

Here is a close up of the embossed deer.  It is so hard to show in the photo, but it is very pretty on the card!

I used my score board to score two lines over the top of the panel, added two borders at the bottom and ran a ribbon across.  I stamped JOY in the lower right corner and heat embossed it to keep the entire card white.

Supply list for this card:

After finishing the white-on-white, I wanted to try another version using wheat and white.  I like it too but I think I like the all white better.  I used a different foliage punch for the wreath and added tiny punched flowers. The edge at the bottom is still MS but a different punch, and a punch at the top of the white strip.  I added 4 randomly placed “snowflakes” and stamped JOY in wheat.

Supply list for this card:

I hope you enjoyed your visit.

I am entering the top card in the Less is More week 78 sketch challenge and here is the sketch:

OWH MIDWEEK THROWDOWN

Happy Saturday cuties! I made these cards earlier this week and am just getting around to sharing them! The Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown is all about encouragement this week.  I am working on fall cards for OWH so hopefully these will work for the throwdown.

This week has been all about using up some of my scraps and I certainly got rid of some while making these cards.  All of the papers for both of these cards are from my scrap pile (YAY!).

I was in AC Moore this week and saw a new display of embossing folders by Darice so I picked up several of them. Both of these cards use my new EFs.  The butterflies are part of the embossing. They are rubbed using a dauber with DI Tea Dye and embellished with blue rhinestones.  The digi stamp is from Doodle Pantry and is on a Spellbinders Fancy Tag Two. I rubbed it with DI Antique Linen before removing it from the Spellbinder. A MS double edge punch was used on the copper paper and placed under the tag.  I also die cut a flower from the same paper and placed it under the Prima flower.

Supplies for this card:

In addition to all the scrap papers, this card also uses a Doodle Pantry pre-colored image and sentiment, Spellbinders, doily, ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and bling from Recollections.
