MOJO MONDAY 256

Hello again sweet friends!  Happy Friday! Today, I am finally sharing my Mojo Monday card. I have been so very busy this week, but it has been a fun week.

This is a card I made for a friend’s deployed soldier son.  The paper is from MME Lost and Found, the sentiment is from Verve and the Labels Eighteen frame is from Inspired by Stamping.  The star was made using a chipboard star. I covered it with a scrap of paper, sprayed it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and then sealed it with StampinUp Crystal Effects.  Once dry, I wrapped jute twine around it.

LESS IS MORE TODAY

Hello crafty friends! Time to share my card for the Less is More challenge, but I could not make up my mind. The first one I did is clean, but is it simple enough? I decided to make a second card that is definitely CAS so I am entering it in the challenge, but I’m going to show you both of them to get opinions on the first one.

The challenge this week is a RECIPE 3 - 2 – 1. This week we have a simple idea for you to use as the focus of your cards. All that you need to do is to incorporate 3 of something, 2 of something and 1 of something else!

The one I am entering into the challenge:

This card has 3 words, 2 swirly border cuts, and 1 Washi Tape.  Lots of white space, not a lot of embellies.  I think this one definitely fits the Less is More guidelines “A design of card with clean lines, minimal elements, areas of white space and few or no embellishments.”

SUPPLIES
SIZE:
5.5x4.25″

Here is the first one I made, and I am second guessing my decision to use this many elements, and that is why I made the other card.

This one has 3 squares, 2 rhinestones, 1 mouse image.

Spellbinders Lacey Squares are under the mouse image which is a Spellbinders standard square.  The white panel is embossed with Swiss Dots embossing folder. The sentiment has two corners rounded with a corner rounder and has two purple rhinestones.  The image and sentiment are from Sweet N Sassy. I colored the image with Copics.

VERVE WEEK 4 CAS CHALLENGE

Hi sweet friends! Today, I started working on the last Verve challenge for this month. It is a CAS sketch and I started with a feminine AnyHero card, but wasn’t sure if it was CAS enough, so I then made a patriotic AnyHero card.  I think I have been hanging out with the Less is More crowd too much (LOL) because I still felt it was not CAS enough.  So I made one more card with lots of white space.  I decided to show you all of them to get input about them, since I am learning how to make CAS cards.

This is the last one I made and the one I think I will enter into the challenge:

I had to alter the sketch a little so the stamps would fit, but I like the card. I paper pieced the balloon and basket, and I embossed the white layer with a Darice embossing folder. The stamps are Verve.

The feminine card:

Now, I love this card. It is so much my style, but I just wasn’t sure if it was CAS.  The papers are Wild Rose Studio, the stamp is Verve and the flower is Inspired by Stamping.

And the patriotic one:

I love the vintage feel of this one.  The large panel background was made using the Wax Paper technique and Distress Inks. I made little pleats in the ribbon and sewed them down. The star is from a Sizzlits die and is embossed with a Verve stamp. The sentiment is also Verve.

5.5x4.25″

So, three cards from the same sketch and all three have an entirely different feel.  Are they all CAS?

WALTZINGMOUSE SKETCH CHALLENGE 112

Hello crafty friends! Well, today I finally decided to try the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.  I won some stamps in a bloghop and have been eager to use them, so today I got the chance!

I have always loved Christmas, and I really enjoy making Christmas cards.  This sweet Christmas sentiment was part of the Waltzingmouse sentiments set and it just jumped out at me.  I loved this sketch too. I’m afraid I took a few liberties with it, but I love the feel of this card.

The hearts are Sizzlets, and the flowers are from Inspired by Stamping.  A Fiskars border punch, some lace from AC Moore, and a couple of pearls finish this card.

Now for the challenges:
