I’m back with more Zentangle inspired art (ZIA). I hope you enjoy! This is another experiment for me. I started by drawing the art using a micron pen.</p> <p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SAEKvojun00/V9rYkG9WKUI/AAAAAAAAWCY/cnQeLf4BXgU/s1600-h/FairyIsle08_2016LineArt%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="FairyIsle08_2016LineArt" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="FairyIsle08_2016LineArt" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Vgaz61QDFHo/V9rYkwcZhrI/AAAAAAAAWCc/53iGQYULuGg/FairyIsle08_2016LineArt_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="424" height="326"></a></p> <p align="left">The photo above is the line art. Yes, I almost forgot to take this photo! I started shading the center flower and remembered to take the photo.</p> <p align="center"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-aXYU469Dg3U/V9rYmRgkUCI/AAAAAAAAWCg/95CZTOaQpxw/s1600-h/FairyIsle08_2016Graphite%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="FairyIsle08_2016Graphite" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="FairyIsle08_2016Graphite" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gJ_HRqJXKS8/V9rYnOcf9ZI/AAAAAAAAWCk/-PKbeTp07TY/FairyIsle08_2016Graphite_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="437" height="340"></a></p> <p>This photo is the piece completely shaded with graphite. I now sprayed it with a workable fixative so I could add color without muddying the graphite.</p> <p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-aqGu4lDukgg/V9rYoBN2_lI/AAAAAAAAWCo/mFKnBZD_riY/s1600-h/FairyIsle08_2016%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="FairyIsle08_2016" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="FairyIsle08_2016" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-TsXdaCgbZqs/V9rYo9X0UVI/AAAAAAAAWCs/hjh2ry4fQdw/FairyIsle08_2016_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="445" height="428"></a></p> <p align="center">Size: 8x10”; Zentangle Patterns: Printemps, A-dalfa, Flee, Roxi, Pippin, Yincut, Yuma</p> <p align="left">This is the final product which is colored with Prismacolor color pencils. After coloring Roxi, I added some Twinkling H2O to add sparkle. Roxi reminds me of small seashells and Yuma reminds me of the sea. I called it Fairy Isle because of the “seashells”, the sea, swirling tides (Printemps), the palms (Pippin), flowers and finally the sand (Yincut). My husband pointed out that the overall design reminded him of a conch shell, so it became Fairy Isle.</p> <p align="left">Thank you so much for stopping by! I’m back today with more Zentangle. I hope you enjoy! I’m continuing to play with backgrounds, so today I’m sharing a tile that I made using Twinkling H2O’s to create the background.</p> <p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-fFaBOdTb6LA/V8xUipJyHEI/AAAAAAAAWBU/2tYJDp1xGak/s1600-h/Colorbackground2TwinklingH2Osc%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="Colorbackground2TwinklingH2Osc" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="Colorbackground2TwinklingH2Osc" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-0C7pUFQ_NAQ/V8xUjczyg8I/AAAAAAAAWBY/FUEJK3kBLDU/Colorbackground2TwinklingH2Osc_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="436" height="476"></a></p> <p align="left">Twinkling H2O’s are similar to watercolor. They are little self contained pots of color that you add water to. They are different because they have mica and other things to make it twinkle. You can see some of the effect in the photo above.</p> <p align="center"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-rH-XgRLpYBk/V8xUkV2u2SI/AAAAAAAAWBc/pAV82XR_vJU/s1600-h/Colorbackground2TwinklingH2Osb%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="Colorbackground2TwinklingH2Osb" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Colorbackground2TwinklingH2Osb" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DNIgIVRr4_A/V8xUlHwF5JI/AAAAAAAAWBg/Scpi7LQp__g/Colorbackground2TwinklingH2Osb_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="433" height="467"></a></p> <p>Once I had the tile completely dry, I added the tangles. I’m back today with more Zentangle. I hope you enjoy! I have been watching people making beautiful watercolor backgrounds and then tangling them, so I decided to try tangling a Distress Ink background. <br></p> <p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XZrMijWRLOY/V8nA1jKzY1I/AAAAAAAAWAg/iwcoco5Pzz4/s1600-h/Colorbackground1b%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="Colorbackground1b" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="Colorbackground1b" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JJjFzBnDGng/V8nA2LHZPxI/AAAAAAAAWAk/bnN2EmgAcIM/Colorbackground1b_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="460" height="412"></a></p> <p align="left">I used DI and blenders for the base of the background. I then used some Distress Stain with the paintbrush to flick spots onto the background. Then I misted with water and dried thoroughly.</p> <p align="center"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Ne4ZE_XkySU/V8nA23pHPnI/AAAAAAAAWAo/8BzaADZY2F8/s1600-h/Colorbackground1c%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="Colorbackground1c" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Colorbackground1c" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-GhAOvXGK7gE/V8nA3pM6VII/AAAAAAAAWAs/tMH7Gp_qDF0/Colorbackground1c_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="440" height="585"></a></p> <p>The tile on the left is an Artist Tile and the one on the right is one I made using Neenah 110 lb card stock. I prefer the card stock because the colors moved on it better and it was tougher. You can see the one on the left tore.</p> <p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XaaSM2Dv8qc/V8nA5FGoBgI/AAAAAAAAWAw/7PltnUFwVJM/s1600-h/Colorbackground1d%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="Colorbackground1d" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left: 0px; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto" border="0" alt="Colorbackground1d" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gdvilZfvWS0/V8nA5naK1QI/AAAAAAAAWA0/DtcbJK8ENTM/Colorbackground1d_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="421" height="378"></a></p> <p align="center">This is the flat line art before coloring and shading.</p> <p align="center"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/--7ffgFLT234/V8nA6wsXHZI/AAAAAAAAWA4/yQKRvO3Y3I4/s1600-h/Colorbackground1%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="Colorbackground1" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Colorbackground1" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OBHViK5_orU/V8nA8HlnqII/AAAAAAAAWA8/fRHE7Tsa3BQ/Colorbackground1_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="445" height="472"></a></p> <p align="center">Size: 3.5 x 3.5”; Zentangle Patterns: Printemps, Onamato, Flee, Beadlines, Striping</p> <p align="left">This is the final product.
