OWH SKETCH 141

Hi everyone! Just dropping in for a quick share using this weeks Operation Write Home sketch.

The beautiful collage on the SB beaded oval is a retired (I think) Hero Arts called Collage Merry and Bright. I think it was the first stamp I ever bought and I still love it.  I inked the stamp with different DI colors and then distresses with DI after die cutting.  The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping and is on a SB Standard Circles. I also used DI and sponged this before I removed it from the die.  The DSPs are MME Lost and Found Christmas. The main panel is embossed with Cuttlebug’s Swiss Dots. The lace is from RRR.

LAST CARD FOR INSPIRATIONAL DT CALL

Hi sweet friends! This is my second post for today, so please scroll down to see my other card. It is an unusual Christmas card!

This is my last card for the Inkspirational Design Team call. This is a NEW challenge blog that will have four challenges each month: CASE, Color, Photo, and Sketch. It starts in January 2013 so join in with this DT call and lets have some Inkspirational fun next year!!!!

Well, if you have been reading my blog this week, you probably already figured out that this is a sketch challenge.  I don’t usually go with a dark background, but it just seemed to show make the butterflies pop, so I embossed it with Swiss Dots and punched the edge with a Fiskar’s punch.  The base is a beautiful green DSP from DCWV and the butterflies are Hero Arts stamps with coordinating Sizzix dies on paper from Cosmo Cricket.  The sentiment is also from Hero Arts. When I placed it on the acrylic block, I curved it around some to add interest, stamped it on the same black paper with VersaMark and embossed with SU! white EP.  The black and white ribbon is from RRR.

Pink pearls and stitching finish this card. Here is the sketch:

TIME FOR CAS-UAL FRIDAY!

This week at CAS-ual Fridays, it is all about embossing; dry embossing, heat embossing, or a combination of the two! Of course I decided to do a combination because I love embossing.

First, I dry embossed the focal panel. Then, I used a Hero Arts butterfly stamp and Versamark to stamp the image.  I then brushed Perfect pearls over the Versamark to color the butterfly and then used StampinUp! clear embossing powder and a heat gun to heat emboss the buterfly.  The Thank You stamp is from Verve. I added purple pearls and a tiny organza bow.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I am always so happy to see that you have been to my blog.

LESS IS MORE TODAY

Hello crafty friends! Time to share my card for the Less is More challenge, but I could not make up my mind. The first one I did is clean, but is it simple enough? I decided to make a second card that is definitely CAS so I am entering it in the challenge, but I’m going to show you both of them to get opinions on the first one.

The challenge this week is a RECIPE 3 - 2 – 1. This week we have a simple idea for you to use as the focus of your cards. All that you need to do is to incorporate 3 of something, 2 of something and 1 of something else!

The one I am entering into the challenge:

This card has 3 words, 2 swirly border cuts, and 1 Washi Tape.  Lots of white space, not a lot of embellies.  I think this one definitely fits the Less is More guidelines “A design of card with clean lines, minimal elements, areas of white space and few or no embellishments.”

SIZE:
5.5x4.25″

Here is the first one I made, and I am second guessing my decision to use this many elements, and that is why I made the other card.

This one has 3 squares, 2 rhinestones, 1 mouse image.

Spellbinders Lacey Squares are under the mouse image which is a Spellbinders standard square.  The white panel is embossed with Swiss Dots embossing folder. The sentiment has two corners rounded with a corner rounder and has two purple rhinestones.  The image and sentiment are from Sweet N Sassy. I colored the image with Copics.
