HAPPY FATHER’S DAY

Hi cuties! I am so happy today! The morning is GORGEOUS and it is Father’s Day, so I call that a great day.  I love my DH so  much, and enjoyed making this card for him.  I used the Mojo Monday sketch and was making it for Make My Monday but missed the deadline.

The background is Tim Holtz Kraft Resist paper that is distressed with Distress Inks. The rest of the paper is from My Mind’s Eye Lost and Found collection.

The sentiment, which is from Inspired by Stamping is on white cardstock that is distressed and cut with Spellbinders Lacey Circle die.

Some stitching, red seam binding and a brad finish off this card. I hope he likes it!!!!

OWH SKETCH CHALLENGE 125

Hi to all my blogging friends! Welcome back to see my card for this week’s Operation Write Home sketch challenge.

My son is in the Army, in AIT at Ft. Benning. He has only been in AIT for a couple of weeks, and was so happy that they are allowed to have electronics now.  Well, that didn’t last long.  Someone decided to try to rob the main PX and although he was arrested, there was mass punishment and they lost their electronics for now.  Needless to say, my soldier is not happy, so I made this card to send to him.

The stamp set is Verve’s Always On My Mind set.  The embossing folder is Cuttlebug’s Palm Leaves with matching border set. Some stitching on my sewing machine and heat embossing for the stars and sentiment and this card was done!

Hopefully he will have his stuff back by the time he gets the card. I know how he hates being punished for something someone else did. LOL don’t we all hate that?

OWH SKETCH CHALLENGE 124

Hi girlies! Happy, happy Friday! I hope you have enjoyed a wonderfully crafty week. I know I have!

I have two cards to share today that are both inspired by Operation Write Home’s* sketch challenge. I got my new Copics and spent some time coloring (My DH thinks I have reverted back to my childhood).

I think I am going to enjoy doing this! Hambo Stamps Many Tanks stamp set is so cute. I used Distress Ink to shade the area around the tanks and the sentiment and Copics on the tanks.

The “polka dot” background is green card stock that is embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  Before embossing, I rubbed brown ink on the negative part of the folder to make the dots show up more.  This will be one of my AnyHero cards in my next box of cards.

SUPPLIES
SIZE:
5.5 x 4.25″

  • STAMPS: Hambo Stamps
  • PAPER: Craftwell card stock
  • TOOLS: Cuttlebug embossing folder, Big Shot

  • ACCESSORIES: Really Reasonable Ribbon

This next card turned out better than I expected. Don’t you love it when that happens?

The puppy in the middle is Fred from Rubber Stampede. The puppies in the corners, the paw prints and the sentiment are all from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. Liquid Pearls were added around the edges of the focus panel.  The black panel under it was cut with a Spellbinders Lacy Square. The same technique as the card above was used on the base white card stock. Black specialty paper was used. It has a shiny finish and is just gorgeous on this card. The border punch is Martha Stewart and a grey Washi tape was attached to the strip.

Copics were used for all coloring and Memento Tuxedo Black for stamping.

    MOJO MONDAY MM243

Hi all my crafty friends! I’m so happy you stopped by to check out my card today. I am a little late with Mojo Monday, but better late than never!

Today is my nephew’s 18th birthday so I used the Mojo Monday sketch to make his card.

This cute digital stamp is from Bugaboo Stamps….Poppi Surf.  I used watercolor paper and water based markers to color him.  The base panel is embossed with a Fiskar’s embossing panel….”Waves” and then I used a dauber to rub Versacolor ink over the waves. The cake is stamped on acrylic with Stazon and popped up. I used the blue hemp twine to help cover the dimensionals.

The papers are Craftwell (yellow gold and solid blue), Six by Six by My Mind’s Eye (tan and print) and Brenda Walton’s Around the World Post Card Pad (lettered DSP on front). The frame has Blue Denim Distress Stickles; stamps are from an old set and I don’t remember where they came from.

THIS CARD QUALIFIES FOR THESE CHALLENGES:

    Mojo Monday: MM243

    TIME STANDS STILL

Hi again! This is my second card for today, so if you missed the first one, please scroll down.  My friend Mynnette introduced me to Make My Monday’s challenge blog, so I am making this card for their current challenge: Week 47 Men and Boys: Time.

The papers used in this card are Craftwell card stock, Tim Holtz Kraft Distress and Recollections white card stock.  Distress Inks were used to color the background, using a Tim Holtz blending tool. The clocks are stamped using Stampabilities Clock Faces Background.  I have had some time related acrylic stickers in my stash for a long time, so I was happy to pull them out and use them on this card.  They help add more dimension and interest along with the Tim Holtz clock and gears.

I thought I might use this as my Dad’s Father’s Day card, but my DH thought that might not be a good idea since he has Alzheimer’s and time has actually stood still for him.  So I’m not sure what I will use this one for.

    NOW FOR THE CHALLENGES:
