OWH VCMP CHALLENGE #9: CUT IT OUT

Hi again cuties! This is my second card for today. If you missed the first one, click here to see it. Now, continuing on with the Virtual Card Making Party at Operation Write Home*……

This one is for Challenge #9: Cut It Out DIE CUTS & PUNCHES — we're asking you to create a card using die-cuts and/or punches. 

As you see, this is another attempt at CAS. I used an embossing folder on the diagonal to emboss the lower right half of the card, a MS double-sided punch for the border and Spellbinders to make the medallion.

So what do you think….CAS or not?

OWH VCMP CHALLENGE #7 CAS CLEAN AND SIMPLE

WooHoo! We are getting near the end of the VCMP challenge and I got caught up today!

Hi all my crafty friends! I hope you are having a most beautiful weekend and hanging out with family or friends….or BOTH!  I decided to forgo the walks today since it is very cold and the wind is so blustery.  I just stayed in and made cards!

This one is for the Operation Write Home’s* Stars and Stamps VCMP challenge #7 CAS: Clean and Simple. If you have been following me, you know I am struggling with CAS.  I end up putting too much stuff on the card; and I’m afraid I did it again with this one.

I am really working hard to get half of my box to be Mother’s Day cards, so to help me do more, I used my printer and my picture software to create the sentiment. I then filled an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock with it.

I paper pierced (or pricked) each corner using an Erica Fortgens metal stencil.

The center is stamped using Rubber Stamp Tapestry’s pretty Cherry Blossoms Set   I cut and embossed the sentiment and sponged it with Pixi Dust ink from VersaMagic.

The center is stamped on the right corner to match the front.

I’m not sure, but possibly the rhinestones and ribbon went over the top for CAS. What do you think?

OWH FUNKY FOLD CARD

Hi cuties!! Well get ready for it. If I can get them all posted, I have three cards to show you tonight!!! Yep, three. Whew what a day!  The link to the second card is here.

OK I’m going to get right to it!  First card is for Operation Write Home’s Stars and Stamps VCMP challenge #3: Funky Fold.  I have been seeing this particular fold a lot lately and wanted to try it but was to afraid to.  Now I see that it isn’t all that hard and it was fun to make, so I’ll probably do more of these.

The papers are MME Lost and Found and card stock. Spellbinders Lacey Circles and Memory Box Quinn Flourish make up the medallion which is topped off with Prima Flowers.

This is going into the Stamp School’s challenge - Art Room 02/06/12 where the color challenge is Cotton Candy, Sweet Tooth, and Razzleberry. I LOVE these colors!!

I also made it for the OWH Mother’s Day Challenge and,

…. finally, Mynnette’s Spread the L-O-V-E challenge since this will be sent to our troops and will make it’s way to a military Mom.

OWH VCMP CHALLENGE #1: HOT TROPICS

Hi sweeties! Boy oh boy are we busy at OWH this week or what? LOL This is a lot of fun but I cannot keep up if I give all the details I normally do, so for now, I will leave out my usual instructions. If you have a question about anything, just let me know!

This is my first post for today. My second one is located here.

For those who don’t know, Operation Write Home’s Stars and Stamps blog is having a “Virtual Card Making Party” all week long!!!!!  Two challenges every night for the week with sweets to be given away at the end of the week. If you have not checked out OWH, please, please do!  What is their mission you ask? Well here it is: “Supporting our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them.” Now I don’t know about you but to me, this is really important because my son is leaving for Basic Training on March 5th. That just gives me more incentive to be involved, but honestly, they are a bunch of really fun people to craft with!

OK. Challenge #1 is HOT TROPICS - USE HOT PINK, GREEN & YELLOW.  Well, if you follow my blog, you know those colors are WAY outside my comfort zone, but here goes….

I just have to point out: those beautiful stamps are the Floral Filigree stamp set from Rubber Stamp Tapestry.  I just love their peg stamps because they give such gorgeous detail for such small stamps.  Each element is individually stamped giving you complete control over the design of your stamped project.

So pretty self explanatory I think. I used the 3 colors, but I also made it a Mother’s Day card in support of the Mother’s Day Challenge.

 

But wait! There’s more!  HAHA….. This card is also going into the Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper challenge FS261. I chose to CASE this card by Darsie1 who is the Featured Stamper this week.

I took the liberty to make quite a few changes, but I think you can see how it inspired my card.
