OWH BLOGHOP WITH MIT LAND

Woohoo! Happy Sunday!!!! OK what did you do to stay in out of the heat today? I worked on cards in my studio this afternoon while little Joy took a nice long nap!

If you haven’t heard yet, Operation Write Home is having an awesome bloghop this week with our sister organization in Denmark!!!  Every card on each hop has a sketch that was created by none other than the super talented Paula.  I want to make every sketch on the hop working from start to finish, so this afternoon I made the first four.  Boy, do I have a lot of cards to make this week!

Here are the first four and here is the link to the hop so you can check out the sketches. I don’t want to post too many pictures, so I am just going to place a link under each picture to the hop with that sketch.

View sketch1  here.  This card uses plain cardstock from Craftwell, a digital stamp from Doodle Pantry. Spellbinders, Cuttlebug embossing folder and ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon. (Shopping links below at end of post)

View Sketch2 here (This is going to be an AnyHero card).  This card uses plain cardstock from Craftwell, a digital stamp from Doodle Pantry. Spellbinders, Cuttlebug embossing folder and a ZVA crystal flourish. (Shopping links below at end of post)

View Sketch3 here NOTE: Be sure to read Sandy’s definition of this card. I am not sure what it is called either, but it was easy and fun to make. This card uses plain cardstock from Craftwell, a digital stamp from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff, a Rubber Stamp Tapestry block stamp and DSP from Wild Rose Studio. (Shopping links below at end of post)

RRR Challenge #50 is Red, White & Blue with Ribbon

Time for the Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge! I love it when a challenge fits what I want to do, and this one is a match made in heaven.

The challenge is to use red, white, and blue with ribbon and since I am making AnyHero cards, this was a no-brainer.  Over at Operation Write Home*, the current card drive, Duty.Honor.Cards is underway. At least 5% of our cards need to be AnyHero cards, so I have a couple of posts that focus specifically on our heroes.  To see the first one, please scroll down to my previous post.

I have always adored Andrea Ewen’s cards and wish I had her sense of style.  She uses a lot of flourishes that I fell in love with when seeing her cards.  I won some ZVA Creative flourishes and have had so much fun using them.  You will see that I used two on this card, but they are large so I find I snip them apart to fit my card, and of course I get to use them on a lot more cards!

Stamper’s Best is where I got the flag stamp. It is one of their OWH fundraiser stamps and features selected deep etch rubber art made especially to assist the fundraising efforts of OWH. They donate $1 to Operation Write Home for each stamp sold that is designated with the OWH logo icon!!

I masked the flag to get the two colors and love how it turned out. I just need to get one of those tools that helps you place the stamp in the same spot.

The sentiment stamps are from Verve’s American Hero set which I find I use a LOT! I just love that set.

CFC57 USING VELLUM OR ACETATE

Hi girlies! Well it is Monday again and I am starting my day with blogging and a cup of coffee. Just can’t seem to get motivated yet.

Over at Operation Write Home*, the current card drive, Duty.Honor.Cards is underway. At least 5% of our cards need to be AnyHero cards, so I have a couple of posts that focus specifically on our heroes!

In addition to the OWH card drive, I am still trying to hone my CAS skills so in keeping with CAS-ual Fridays challenge this week, I used vellum on this card.

The sentiment, from Verve’s American Hero set, is stamped on vellum and then framed by a Spellbinders Classic Square frame.

The Band of Brother’s is stamped in Stamp School’s Wild Cherry. This stamp elicits so many emotions from me every single time I see it. It is one of my favorite patriotic stamps and is made by Stamper’s Best. It is one of their OWH fundraiser stamps and features selected deep etch rubber art made especially to assist the fundraising efforts of OWH. They donate $1 to Operation Write Home for each stamp sold that is designated with the OWH logo icon!!

Papers are from Recollections and ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

This is another OWH Fundraiser stamp from Stamper’s Best.  Please be sure to check out the fundraiser stamps after you leave comments for me.  The only thing that could make an AnyHero card any better would be to actually give that hero a big hug too! We would love to have you join us as OWH and send some love to these brave men and women.

THIS CARD QUALIFIES FOR:
