FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES

It seems like I only make birthday cards lately, and this one is no exception. I hope you are not tired of them LOL. This one is made for the Freshly Made Sketches sketch 81.

This digital image was a freebie but I have no idea where I got it. I have had it for a long time and finally decided to try coloring it.  I used Copic markers and added Sickles to make the rain sparkle.  Scraps of paper, a little strip of ribbon from RRR and stamps from Taylored Expressions finish this card. I believe the Taylored Expressions stamps are retired. I cannot find them on their store site.

LESS IS MORE LIME AND BLACK

Hello dear friends! I hope that you are all OK and not adversely affected by the horrific storms rolling through the South and Midwest!  I know we are scheduled for storms to come through here tomorrow, so I plan to spend the afternoon in my craft studio!

But for today, I have a birthday card that I made for the Less is More Lime and Black challenge.

This is a birthday card for one of our deployed soldiers. I used a brayer to make the black design, a Paper Smooches stamp for the birthday sentiment and die for the tag, and Hambo Stamps for the tank image and the tanking pun sentiment. I punched out the stars and colored with Copics and added ribbon from RRR. The sentiment is embossed on the same black ribbon used at the top.

LESS IS MORE HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Hello sweet friends.  I can’t wait for the weather to settle down. Yesterday it was almost 70 degrees; today, 58 is supposed to be the high. Oh well….
Let’s talk about my card that I made for the Less is More challenge.

The theme for this week is scallops. I chose the Taylored Expressions scalloped eyelet border die for this one and some beautiful paper from K&Co.  The ribbon looks black in this photo but it is more brown than black in real life.  The Happy Birthday is from Inspired by Stamping and the Bumbling Bee stamp is from Inkadinkado. HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY

And happy SATURDAY to my awesome crafty friends! The weather is gorrrrgeous here today and I am so happy to see it. Just had a nice walk with my little Joy and getting ready to take her for grooming. That means CRAFTY TIME this afternoon!! Woohoo!

OK, want to post this quickly before I leave. This is my Mojo Monday card for this week. It is round or square week, so I chose square.

I was asked to make a special 1st birthday card and this is my first attempt. I’m not sure it is special enough, so I am going to make another.  I do love the darling paper from Wild Rose Studio called Anabelle’s Garden. It has lots of great girly papers in it!

YOU’RE 50 AND “SENT-SATIONAL”`

Happy Good Friday dear friends and a Happy Vietnam Veterans’ Day to all vets past, present and future, but especially our dear Vietnam Veterans who endured so much!
My card today was made using the Operation Write Home sketch for this week but turned it on it’s side. Here it is:

My crazy sister has an alter ego that is just hysterical. When she is in her costume and fully consumed by her creation, it is a total hoot. Well, her alter ego (Lida Mae Thatchat LOL) has a FB page and I noticed her “birthday” is on April Fools day, and she will be 50.  So….what else could I do but make Lida Mae a birthday card. I hope she enjoys it! And I hope you did too.

Here is a close up of the image. I combined images from different stamp sets from Doodle pantry to come up with this and added the little wiggly eyes.  What do you think?  I listed the stamp sets below.
