TIME FOR TECHNIQUE TUESDAY

It is here; time for Technique Tuesday and we have such a fantastic technique for you to try!  This month our featured technique is Faux Leather w/ Masking Tape and as usual, Mynnette has done a fantastic tutorial for you. I love this technique because I enjoy making my own background papers, and the Faux Leather has such a pretty leathery, organic look.  I hope you will stop by and see the crew’s beautiful creations using this technique and join us in the fun.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I am always so happy to see that you have been to my blog.

MY FIRST DT POST!

Hello to all my sweet friends! In July, I hinted (ok maybe not too subtly LOL) that I had a surprise for you. Well this is part of it!  Mynnette Kitchen has kindly chosen me to be on her design team at Technique Tuesday!  I am so excited to be a part of her “crew” and look forward to sharing my cards with you and seeing yours in return!

The technique for August is called Baby Wipe Reinker Pad. You can view the tutorial on the Technique Tuesday blog. And now, here is my card!

To create the background, I used Whispy Bamboo and Fans #3 cube stamp (I think this fan stamp is retired) on the re-inker pad.  The colors are yellow, green and two different browns – all DI re-inkers.  I then stamped the fans again and fussy cut them, layering them on top of a shimmery green cardstock.  I added a small rhinestone and a tiny bow to the bottom of  each fan.  The ribbon is all the same white except I pressed some of the ribbon onto the baby wipe pad to color it.  The base of the card is black topped with more of the pretty shimmery green. I stitched the white panels to the cardstock and attached to the base. I popped up the fans, added some bling and tied a bakers bow to finish it.

I’m sure you will want to see how the rest of the crew was inspired by this technique. Here are their sites:

TECHNIQUE TUESDAY JULY CHALLENGE–CASCADING CARD

This is my second post for today so please scroll down after viewing this post to see the other one.

UGH! I saw cascade cards on Splitcoaststampers earlier this year and just decided I didn’t want to tackle it.  But, my friend Mynnette over at Technique Tuesday has made that the challenge for July. So, with instructions in hand, supplies gathered up, and Joy taking a forced nap I set out to make this card and here it is:

OK, I admit, it was not as hard as I had convinced myself it would be, so I would recommend that you give it a try. I used K and Company Life’s Journey double sided 12x12 paper for this. I wanted it to look like a cascading flower garden with flowers from Prima and Inspired by Stamping. The sentiment is  a Sizzlets die cut.  I used SB Labels Eighteen and a Cut.Fold.Tuck flower medallion on the front panel. The butterfly is by SU! and the watering can is from Sizzlits Garden Delights.  The long green flourish is an old Sizzlits decorative flourish strip that I have had forever.  I just cut it to fit each section of the card. I used a Martha Stewart edge punch along the top of both sides.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing my card! I hope to see you again soon.

TECHNIQUE TUESDAY VELVETEEN STAMPING

Hello once again! I do hope your Saturday is totally fabulous! I had a chance to do some crafting so you KNOW I had fun! We even got rain today!!

OK I promise this is my last card for today.  Please scroll down to see cards one and two!

TechTues

This card is for Technique Tuesday and I enjoyed making it but I think my background stamp was to subtle.  The flower stamp is a new Inkadinkado purchase for me.  The sentiment is from Verve’s Always on My Mind set.  Inks are Versacolor Lapislazuli and Peony. The background panel is Craftwell card stock embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  Some Prima flowers and Liquid Pearls finish this card.

I popped the sentiment with some StampinUp! dimensionals.
