MASCULINE MOJO MONDAY MM247

Hi Ladies! It looks like my entire weekend will be spent inside, out of the furnace we have outdoors. The good news: I get some time to craft!!!!  I needed a birthday card this week, so I am sharing a masculine card using the Mojo Monday sketch.

The striped panel was painted with Distress Crackle Paint – Rock Candy and then distressed with Distress Stains.  I used the Tim Holtz Steampunk Border die for the horizontal panel, a Stampers Best Steampunk gears stamp, and then Tim Holtz Sprocket Gears as the final embellies.

I had to get this in the mail quickly and then come back and post it when I could get some time.  It is for my mechanic’s (shhh that is my son!!!!) birthday which is July 5th. Not being sure how long it will take the Army to deliver it, I wanted to get it in the mail early. Hopefully he will have it for his birthday. I wouldn’t want him to think we forgot!!!! So I guess since it is going to my specific hero instead of OWH AnyHero, I’ll call it MyHero card Open-mouthed smile

OK. Happy crafting today. See you again soon!

TSTR WEEK 119 Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend

Good morning and Happy Friday! I decided to do one more card with the Operation Write Home sketch 126 and pair it with The Shabby Tea Room’s challenge.

This was my week to play with a sketch and see how different I could make each card. My other cards are in the post below, so if you missed them, please scroll down to check them out.

TSTR challenge was to use pearls so I had some fun with this one! A pretty pearl flourish is the focal point on this card with additional pearls on the lace and Liquid Pearls on the scroll at the top of the focal panel.

OWH TUTORIAL MAKE A MESS

This is my second post today. Please scroll down to see the first one.

OK, last night on OWH’s Facebook page, I promised I was going to get messy today and try the OWH tutorial.  Well, I got messy, but was not able to get the splatter effect that I wanted, so I came up with a different effect.

I used a piece of watercolor paper and Distress Stains to make the lines, then I placed some of the stain on my work surface and plopped the corner into the ink.  It was really simple, but I like the effect.

The sentiment is from Stamp School

Three gold self-adhesive pearls finish off this simple card.  I do believe I made a CAS card Surprised smile.

I will be sharing this at the Operation Write Home Tutorial for this week. You can go here to see all of the other attempts. This is the technique we were supposed to do but I could NOT get the splatter to look right.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY

Hi cuties! I am so happy today! The morning is GORGEOUS and it is Father’s Day, so I call that a great day.  I love my DH so  much, and enjoyed making this card for him.  I used the Mojo Monday sketch and was making it for Make My Monday but missed the deadline.

The background is Tim Holtz Kraft Resist paper that is distressed with Distress Inks. The rest of the paper is from My Mind’s Eye Lost and Found collection.

The sentiment, which is from Inspired by Stamping is on white cardstock that is distressed and cut with Spellbinders Lacey Circle die.

Some stitching, red seam binding and a brad finish off this card. I hope he likes it!!!!
