VLVFebWk3: BIRTHDAY WISHES

Hello again friends. Popping in with another  Viva la Verve card for this month. This is the one for VLV  February Week 3 sketch.

(A2; Stamps: Verve (Making a Statement and One Person); Die: Verve (Rounded Scallop Frame Die); Papers: Heidi Swapp)

I think the only thing I need to explain is about the flower. It is from the One Person set. I stamped the large and small one, colored them with Copic markers and fussy cut. I used foam tape and added the small flower on top of the large one.

Thanks for stopping by!

VLVFebWk1: HOPE

Hello my dear blogging friends. I’m so happy to finally have time to start my Viva la Verve cards for this month. I will be posting the first two today. And here is the one for VLV Week 1.

(A2; Stamps: Verve (Hope Blooms);Dies: Spellbinders; Papers: DCWV); Cut file: Silhouette Studio)

Once I decided on papers, this card came together quickly. The flowers and the sentiment are from Verve’s Hope Blooms set. After stamping the flowers in brown, I fussy cut them and also randomly cut from the outer edge to the start of the center circle, making them frilly and fluffy. I used a round stick to curl them up and added a yellow enamel dot as the center.I hope you enjoy my card!

I made this cute little box using my score board, a flower cut file from Silhouette Studio and a Cuttlebug border embossing folder that coordinates with the embossing folder used on the cards. So that is the complete set. I think it would make a sweet gift!

Did you notice the new watermark on the last pictures? This is my big (to me) announcement. January 2015 is my grand opening of Ellen’s Creative Greeting Cards & Crafts on Etsy! And yes, you will find this set in my little shop! I hope you will visit and let me know what you think!!!

VLVDec2014: SNEAK PEAK

Hello my dear blogging friends. Welcome back to my blog today! I KNOW, you are thinking why is she posting so much! I’m sorry, and I promise this is my last post for today.

Over at Viva la Verve, Julie had a fun change for the December challenge. This month we can make each card as usual, or we can combine all of the sketches and make a 6x6 “One Sheet Wonder”. I have seen people use a complete sheet of paper to make several cards, and I have always been intrigued by it, but never tried it until now!

Today, I am giving you a sneak peak of what is to come this month for my Viva la Verve challenge cards.

That is it! Just a sneak peak, but I hope you will come back to see each of the cards! Stop by tomorrow to see the first one!

Thanks for stopping by!

CTS102: BIRTHDAY WISHES FOR YOU

Hello crafty friends. I hope you saw my Great Impressions post for today! I have another card to share, so let’s get started. This is for the CAS(e) This Sketch challenge:

(A2: Stamps: Verve (Making a Statement), StampinUp (Off the Grid and Gorgeous Grunge); Die: Verve (Rounded Scallop Frame Die)

Well, I made two cards using this sketch and this is the one I decided to use. I don’t know why the CTS sketches challenge me so much, but they do! I liked the way the butterflies in the sketch moved from outside the frame, to into the frame and out again. I wanted to do something different but get the effect of the movement, so I stamped the sentiment card, the frame and the yellow back panel while they were all stacked. Then, I attached the sentiment card and added foam tape strategically behind the frame so I could work the rhinestone swirl under and over it. I added one epoxy dot to anchor the swirl.

I love the name of this paper pack – Dreamy – because that is exactly what it is! Once I cut all the pieces, I used my Cameo and cut the little border between the two back panels and the flower.

Hello  friends! I have a quick post today to share my card  for the Mojo Monday challenge:

(A2: Stamps: Verve (Santa's Helper); Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon; DSP: MME (Vintage Christmas)

I colored this little guy with Copics and fussy cut leaving off the little hind legs and clipping up by the arms so he could hold the sentiment. Went with vintage papers and distressing on this one.

VLVNovWk3: MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hello my dear blogging friends. Welcome back to my blog today! This second post for today is for the Viva la Verve week 3 sketch:

(A2: Stamps: Verve (Merry Christmas), StampinUp! (Gorgeous Grunge); EF; StampinUp!; Cut file: Silhouette Studio)

The sketch for this week came with an inspiration photo. Although it was white on white pumpkins, I decided to do a Christmas card. Everything is just white and Kraft card stock. I used Antique Linen DI and the Gorgeous Grunge set to make the strip of paper with the lines. The white layer is dry embossed for texture and once the strips were on the card, I added the rhinestone swirl. The poinsettias are from a Silhouette Studio cut file. I inked around the edges with Antique Linen DI.

MM372: MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hello  friends! I have a quick post today to share my card  for the Mojo Monday challenge:

(A2: Stamps: Verve (Merry Christmas); Cut files: Silhouette Studio); Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon; DSP: The Paper Studio (Christmas 2014)

Another Christmas card! I KNOW, but I do love making and sending them! I’m still using my new pack of Christmas paper, but for the sentiment circle, I used a plain grey paper, stamped the sentiment, then heat embossed snowflakes in white. I wanted it to be similar to the DSP behind it. The Dec 25 comes from a Silhouette Studio cut file.

LIM198: MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hello crafty friends. Welcome back to my second post today for my Less is More card for this week. I have been away helping my daughter so I have missed this challenge for several weeks. I’m so happy to be able to submit an entry this week!

(A2: Stamps: Heartfelt Creations (trees); Verve (Merry Christmas: Cut file: Silhouette Studio; Lace: Really Reasonable Ribbon; Stencil: SSS (Falling Snow)

The theme this week is more than one tree. After stamping the trees, I used a snow stencil and embossing paste to create the snowy effect. I matted the image and stamped the sentiment on the base.  I cut the holly in white on my Cameo and added some stickles for the berries. Last I added a small lace bow to complete this card.

VLVNovWk2: MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hello my dear blogging friends. Welcome back to my blog today! I have two posts with the first one for the Viva la Verve week 2 sketch:

(A2: Stamps: Verve (Merry Christmas); EF; The Paper Studio; DSP: The Paper Studio (Christmas 2014); Lace: Really Reasonable Ribbon; Cut file: Silhouette Studio; Die: Spellbinders (Circle)

The white panel of this card is dry embossed and then distressed with DI around the edges. After stamping the sentiment, I distressed the circle as well. The large circle was cut on my Cameo, along with the flourish and holly. I used DI on a doily to place under the large circle. I then used white paper and distressed the edges to create the border layers. A little stitching, some enamel dots and a strip of lace finished this card off.
