This is a tile that I did just for fun. There were a couple of new to me tangles that I wanted to try. It has been a while since I added a gem so I had a bit of fun with that too. What do you think?

The Shading Zentangle challenge pattern is Joki this week.  I finally got some tan tiles to try!  I was going to make this a monotile, but as I worked on it, it took on a life of its own. Joki is a really fun tangle with lots of possibilities. I will be back with another tile!

ZENTANGLE CHALLENGE: OKE TANGELATION

Hi everyone! I’m back today with more Zentangle. I hope you enjoy!

OKETangelationChallenge

OKETangelationChallengeLineArt

Size: 3.5 x 3.5”; Zentangle Patterns: Oke, Shattuck, Scrawlz, Navaho

Last week, the Shading Zentangle challenge pattern was Oke tangelation. I have never done a tangelation before, so this is my take. Now, once I started, I realized I wanted the Oke tangle in the center, so I started over, but I forgot to take another picture of the line art. But you can get the idea from the photo above.

After drawing the outline of Oke, I added and aura and then filled in with black pen. The center of each section reminded me of Shattuck, so I chose that tangle as a filler.  This was done with a Micron pen and graphite pencils.

A couple of weeks ago, the Shading Zentangle challenge pattern was Abeko. I apologize that I am so far behind with posts, but since our son and daughter-in-law moved here, I have been so busy! But it is the kind of busy that I love and had missed so much!

So, this is my take on Akebo, with some Zinger, Nekton and Striping. This was done with a Micron pen and Prismacolor and graphite pencils.

Size: 3.5 x 3.5”; Zentangle Patterns: Echoism

This week, the Shading Zentangle challenge pattern is Echoism. I used Echoism as a border around my flower and I used the loops, plus the middle circle, to make gems. I tried something different this week and shaded this with Copic markers. The gems are done in Prismacolor pencils.

I remembered to take the line art picture just after I started shading, but you can see how flat it is. The shading is even but the top left looks a little light because the light was hitting it.

This was done with a Micron pen Prismacolor and graphite pencils.

ZENTANGLE CHALLENGE: B’DYLAN

Hi everyone! I’m back today with more Zentangle. I hope you enjoy!

BDylanChallenge

Size: 3.5 x 3.5”; Zentangle Patterns: B’Dylan, Luv-A, Tipple

This week, the Shading Zentangle challenge pattern is B’Dylan, the dandelion pattern on my tile. The challenge was the shading of it since it is not a solid image. I don’t know if I got the angles right, but I like the way it turned out. What do you think? (OH! I TOTALLY forgot to take a picture of the line art Sad smile)

BIBLE JOURNAL #25

Hello blogging friends! here is my Bible Journal for this week:

BibleJournal25

BibleJournal25B

BibleJournal25C

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”  2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV21)

I don’t know about you, but for me, the news this week has been scary and depressing. It is sad seeing how fractured our country has become, full of hate, spite and venom. It is so easy to lose sight of God and slip into fear when I am watching racial tension, ISIS killings, Zika virus, and the list can go on, but you get the idea. So, I had to take some time with this verse and pray for the Holy Spirit to get me past this fear and fill me with power, love and a sound mind. I am going to focus on what I can do and that is enjoy life and treat people with kindness. It is time to stop living in fear of things that may never happen!

This drawing is done with a Micron pen and Prismacolor pencils.

TANGLE CHALLENGE: CORNERZ

Hi everyone! I’m back today with more Zentangle. I hope you enjoy!

CornerzChallenge

CornerzChallengeLineArt

Size: 3.5 x 3.5”; Zentangle Patterns: Cornerz

This week, the Shading Zentangle challenge pattern is Cornerz. I started shading the line art and remembered I needed a picture, so you can see where I started shading. I wanted the grid pattern to “float” over the design. I hope I got that shading right!

This was done with a Micron pen and graphite pencils.

ZENTANGLE BROOCH

Hi everyone! I’m back today with more Zentangle. I hope you enjoy!

GemWithFootlites

Size: 3.5 x 3.5”; Zentangle Patterns: Footlites

I have been working on gems for a while now but never seemed to be able to get that sparkle and pizazz, so I bought Eni Oken’s eBook called 3D Tangle: Shading Smooth Gems. I used her instructions to color this gem and boy is there a difference! I drew this one earlier this week, before I bought her book:

GemBeforeEBook

Size: 3.5 x 3.5”; Zentangle Patterns: Betweed, Cadent

See the difference? I forgot to take pictures of the line art; I really have to get better with that!

In the first picture I played around with Footlites. Instead of a straight line, I used the pattern in a circle and love how it turned out.

These were done with a Micron pen Prismacolor and graphite pencils.

FLOWER VINE

Hi everyone! I’m back today with more Zentangle. I hope you enjoy!

FlowerVines

FlowerVinesLineArt

Size: 3.5 x 3.5”; Patterns: Amaze

I started playing with flower vines last week and came up with this tile. I wanted to give it a little wash of color so I used a bit of Prismacolor pencils to add some greens. I am still working on learning to shade and while the shading went ok, creating the shadows was complicated and I’m not sure if it worked or not!

This was done with a Micron pen, Prismacolor and graphite pencils.
