TANKING OF YOU ON YOUR SPECIAL DAY

Hello dear friends and happy Friday! I’m just popping in quickly to share a birthday card for a soldier.

These papers are from one of my new MME paper pads. I chose them because the challenge at Cards in Envy is Polka Dots and/or stripes.  I stamped the tank repeatedly in Dove Grey and then stamped it in black on some Kraft and fussy cut it. The tank and sentiment under it are from Hambo Stamps and the birthday sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

PAPER PIE(R)CING

I love paper piercing, but a lot of people read it as paper piecing.  Just one little letter makes a big difference in the technique. I recently bought some new templates from Gem’s Cottage and this week, Less is More is featuring a challenge using paper piercing. Yeah! I get to use a new template.  Here is what I came up with.

I hope (and think maybe) I am learning more and more about CAS as I play in these challenges.  I love looking at the winners and trying to learn from them.  I did keep this very simple with a vase of flowers that I stamped using Rubber Stamp Tapestry peg stamps.  The sentiment is a freebie I got with a purchase from Verve.  The frame is a SB that I mounted on foam tape.  The paper piercing template is a double scallop border that I placed below both of my score lines.

YOU ARE SO LOVED

Hi sweet friends! Welcome back for another challenge at Inkspirational. I am so excited to see so many of you joining in with our challenges!

This week we have a SKETCH challenge for you and here is my card. Be sure to check out all of the inspiration from our very creative DT!

I loved the clean design of this sketch and decided I wanted to step outside my comfort zone with the colors. Going through my stash, I found this pretty DSP and decided to use those colors.  The stamps are from my new CAS-ual Friday stamps. I used a SB to cut out the large flower and inked the edge of it with the same ink.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch to add interest and popped up the flower to add depth.
