YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE

Today’s post has a special Thank You to my friend Cely. You told me I would love a Silhouette and I DO! I am still getting used to it, but this card was made mostly using it.

Hi sweet friends! Welcome to some End of the Week Encouragement for challenge #23 at Inkspirational. We are seeing some beautiful creations, so jump right in and get yours linked up! You have until Tuesday at 6pm CST to show us your creativity!

(Sentiment and butterfly made with Cameo Silhouette; Spellbinders die; Really Reasonable Ribbon)

This was a very simple card. I used the Silhouette to cut the sentiment and used a strip of red paper behind it. Used the same red paper for the butterfly.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to click the link below to go right to the challenge at Inkspirational! There is still time to play!!!!!!

I LOVE YOU DAD

Today is Dad’s Memorial Service and I wanted to do something special for him. So this is just a quick post to share it with you.

I chose a simple picture frame and the Mojo Monday sketch and decided I love how it turned out. Hope you do too.
Pray for me today as I go through his service. I plan to read a poem and I need strength to get through it. Here is the poem:

It's been a long time since we first felt the beginning to this end.
And today we pray before you; your family and your friends.
We've watched your thoughts get more obscure with every passing day;
As this heartless thing called Alzheimer's made them fade away.
Gradually it took the gleam from those once so loving eyes.
To befall on such a giving man...it seemed so unjustified.
Stripping you of everything, leaving nothing in its place...
Except a look of sadness left upon your face.
As long as we have searched, through all the tears we've cried...
We've tried to find the reason for this long good-bye.
But now it's time to take back all your memories...
As you are finally free from this cruel disease.
We pledge to remember the man that you once were;
A good hearted, giving man is all that will be heard.
And every night when we look up and see a certain star...
We will know within our hearts exactly where you are.
So on this day we say good-bye as you now depart.
Although far from our touch, never far from our hearts.

JUST THINKING ABOUT YOU WITH LOVE

Hello sweet friends! Can you believe it is the first Tuesday in June? Where is the year going? Well at least the good news the first Tuesday means: TECHNIQUE TIME TUESDAY!  YES! A video tutorial of an awesome technique from the very special Mynnette!

This month’s technique is the Chalkboard Technique. I believe this is my new favorite!

My black background doesn’t look so black in the photo, but in person, this card rocks (LOL at least to me). To see how to make a card using this technique, go see Mynnette’s video at Technique Time Tuesday. Then make sure to link up your creation so we can all see it!
