PLAYING WITH ZENTANGLE….

Hello blogging friends!   Today, I have another Zentangle design using a template from Zenspirations® Create, Color, Pattern, Play!

20160223_005816000_iOS

and here is what I created:
Courtesy Joanne Fink
I showed you the original so you could see what I added. I love playing with Zentangle and will be using it to design some of my greeting cards. Once I added in all of the designs, I shaded some in pencil and then colored the rest with Copic markers.
Zentangle is a relaxing way to play creatively, even if you are not an artist.  Zenspirations® Create, Color, Pattern, Play! is a great place to go to get “Zenspired” as well as inspire others. I will be sharing this on Joanne’s FB page.

BIBLE JOURNAL 8

Hello blogging friends!  This week, I am back to a more traditional Bible journal entry.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up..” Galatians 6:9 (ESV))

The text is hand lettered and the flowers are hand drawn. I used colored pencils to color them (I love my Copics but they bleed through). In additional to working on hand lettering and Zentangle, I found some great how-to art videos. I used some of what I have learned to draw the flowers.

CTB BINGO CHALLENGE

Hello sweet friends!  I am stopping in today to share my card that I am submitting to the  Bugaboo Catch the Bug challenge.  The challenge this week is BINGO and I chose the middle vertical row which includes Distress, Flower and Friendship:

(A2: Stamps:  Bugaboo (Life in Color),EF: Tim Holtz)

When I first saw this digital stamp I knew I wanted to try to quill it. It took a LOT longer than I exected, but I love the finished product. After printing the image and sentiment, I colored the image with Copic markers and then I quilled using the on-edge technique and a bit of traditional quilling. I am hoping the feathers can pass as flowers, and the sanded background counts as distressed. Of course the sentiment always work great for a friendship card! What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by!

BIBLE JOURNAL #7

Hello blogging friends!  This week’s post is a little bit different. I discovered a couple of great Facebook groups that are very inspiring! One is Art & Hand-Lettering Class | Dawn Nicole Designs, and Zenspirations® Create, Color, Pattern, Play! Dawn Nicole is such a talented artist and has been generous enough to share some of her templates. Here is the one I used this week:

2016WordoftheYear

and here is what I created:

“And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.” 1 John 2:28 (KJV)

I showed you the original so you could see what I added. Copic markers were used to color this. I posted earlier this year that Abide is my word for the year, so I used it on this piece. I have never had a word of the year before, but I really like the idea because it makes me focus clearly on that word and what it means. Well, that is my journal for this week.

QUILLING: YOU STOLE MY HEART

Hello blogging friends!  I have not posted a lot this week because I have been working on a project that took a while. Anyway, I am now ready to share it with you!

I repurposed a glass candle jar for this quilled project. Inside is a garden of roses, hearts, a vine, and leaves. It is a little hard to take great pictures through the glass, but hopefully you can see what I did. After the quilling was finished, I made a sentiment on my computer and added an eyelet to run the ribbon through. I just tied it around the top of the jar. What do you think?

VLVFebWk12016

Hello dear blogging friends!. Popping in with my Viva la Verve card for this week. This is the one for the VLV  February Week 1 sketch.

(A2; Stamps: Verve (You and I); Punch: Martha Stewart;  EF: Cuttlebug)

For the background, I dry embossed and used a white ink pad “direct to paper”. I also used the ink pad around the edges of the black mat, added stitching and a white paper flower with a blue enamel dot.

BIBLE JOURNAL #6

Hello blogging friends!  Some things happened this week that reminded me of the importance of faith. I used to be a worrier. If I wasn’t worried about something, I started worrying what was going to happen that would make me worry (UGH)…..yes really. Well, now I know that faith is all I need to solve my worries. When I feel worry kicking in, I know I can pray and let God take care of it. What a blessing that is!

“For with God nothing shall be impossible..” Luke 1:37 (KJV)

The lettering on this entry is all by me, but the strawberry plants were done using peg stamps from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. They are so small, they are perfect for a beginner like me! I can add things that I would normally shy away from just because I don’t have the talent to draw it. After I finished, I chalked the background.

STELLA SAYS SKETCH #402

Hello sweet friends!  I am stopping in today to share my card that I am submitting to the  Bugaboo Catch the Bug challenge

(A2: Stamps:  Bugaboo (Gus – Consciousness); EF: Cuttlebug

I think Gus is such a hoot! I decided to add hand drawn hearts on his shorts and made sure his shirt had the appropriate stains! He was fussy cut and colored with Copics and attached with foam tape. The embossed background was colored using the Direct to Paper inking technique. What do you think?

DOODLE PANTRY AND FAB N FUNKY

Hello my Doodle Pantry friends! Today Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the challenge over at Fab n Funky. I’m sure you will want to go over and play in the challenge, but first I have a little inspiration for you.

(A2; Digital stamp set: Doodle Pantry (Horses 3)

I used Doodle Pantry’s newly released Horses 3 for my card. I printed the line art and sentiment and colored with Copics. Then, I used the Out of the Box technique to cut them out. I dry embossed the light grey panel and make the background. To make it, I started with a darker grey card stock and used artist tape to create strips. I sponged white ink between the tape strips and then used a striped border stamp to add the black stripes. I hope you enjoyed my card!

Now it is  your turn! Get over to Fab n Funky and show us what you create!

I  hope you enjoyed my card and don’t forget to join our challenge! Here is your link:

DOODLE PANTRY RELEASE DAY

Hello my Doodle Pantry friends! I’m here with exciting news today: Doodle Pantry has new releases today, and they are fantastic!  I chose  Unfailing Love for my card and here is my DT card:

(A2; Digital stamp set: Doodle Pantry (Unfailing Love

I just love this set! It has lots of wonderful love sentiments to choose from. I used this beautiful cursive “Love” and changed the color from black to a peachy color. I added one of the sentiments and printed. I made the flowers using my Cameo and then used my craft knife to cut around parts of the “L” so that the flowers are intertwined with it. I dry embossed the base card stock and used the direct to paper technique to add some color.

Our DT has put together some amazing cards for the challenge, so please check them out!
Be sure to come back at noon to see my DT card for the AIMPDC challenge card!

BIBLE JOURNAL #5

Hello blogging friends!  How was your week?  I just cannot believe another week has come and gone. We had so much ice, we just couldn’t clear it by ourselves. We are just too old for that! Well, yesterday, all of our neighbors came over and helped clear the garage entrance and the front entrance! I honestly have the BEST neighbors in the world. And that had me giving thanks and thinking a lot about thankfulness, so that is the theme of my Bible Journal this week.

“In every thing give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)

I have never considered trying art of any kind, but once I started card making, I have become more and more interested in art. I started studying hand lettering a few weeks ago and I have picked up Zentangleing. I used both for this journal entry and colored them with Prismacolor pencils. Well, it will be fun to look back on these early entries and see how they compare later on.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Please take a second to let me you were here!

BIBLE JOURNAL #4

Hello blogging friends!  How was your week? It has been rainy and cold here most of the week, but this weekend has been clear and a tiny bit warmer. This was one of those weeks where everything gets out of whack and doesn’t go as planned, so I got really behind on everything. Here is my Bible Journal entry for this week, and I believe my journal for next week will be a companion to this one.

“But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him..” 1 John 1:27 (ESV)

This is a companion to my journal last week and continues with my word for this year; ABIDE. This week I played with watercolors and markers. It didn’t come out like I wanted but that’s ok. It is all about the journey!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Please take a second to let me you were here!

Have a blessed Sunday!
