GROOVY CHALLENGE

Hi everyone! I’m back today with more Zentangle. I hope you enjoy!

Patterns: Groovy, Florz, Zinger, Henna Drum

This is for the challenge at Shading Zentangle where the challenge is the pattern Groovy. This is a new pattern for me and was a challenge to shade!  I used a Micron pen, Prismacolor pencils and graphite pencils for this one. I like the bit of color on this tile, but it is not purely zentangle.

I almost forgot to take the “before” shot so I took it after the henna was colored.

BIBLE JOURNAL #24

Hello blogging friends! here is my Bible Journal for this week:

3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. ”  James 1: 3-4 (NIV)

The ESV uses the word steadfastness instead of perseverance, but for me, perseverance feels like a better word since it means “determination in doing something despite the difficulty”.  It is a word that stays in my mind a lot and if I every have grandchildren, that is one word I will teach them! I hope, and believe I was able to teach our children perseverance. Upon reading this verse, I realized that trials in life just help me grow my perseverance and therefore my faith matures. What a wonderful message, at least to me. It helps me when things get tough.

This drawing is done with a Micron pen and Copic markers.  Since I was planning to use the markers, I added a strip of cardstock to the page so it would not soak through.

Have a blessed day!

MAGNIFIED PLOWER

Hi everyone! I’m back today with more Zentangle. I hope you enjoy!

MagnifiedPlower2

MagnifiedPlower
Patterns: Plower, Printemps

This one was drawn with a Micron pen and shaded with graphite pencils. I started shading a bit before I remembered to take a picture of the line art! Well, the pattern on the right, called Plower, is supposed to appear like a portion is being viewed through a magnifier. Can you see that? It was fun trying to figure out how to do it!

I bought a book from Eni Oken called Shading Fearlessly so I tried to use some of what I have learned on this tile. She also wrote a post about repetition (click here to see)and I used that tip too!
