CIE: FOR THE GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS

Hello crafty friends! Welcome back for another Cards in Envy challenge! This time the challenge is “For the Girls, Girls, Girls”: Create a card for the ladies! Feminine cards only please.

(A2: Paper: DCWV (The All About the Girls Stack); Sentiment made by me on my PC)
Who COULDN’T use a little “retail therapy” every once in a while? I know that is a girl’s favorite pastime! I used some paper I have had for a long time! I never use it because it has glitter in it and since so many of my cards go to OWH, I have not used this paper. I decided now is the time to pull it out; I mean, how much more girly can you be? I hope you enjoyed the card!

Now it is time for you to join in the fun! Here is the link for you, just remember your card must be A2 (4 1/4” x 5 1/2”) size and no thicker than 1/4".

CIE: HEY DUDE

Hello crafty friends! Welcome back for another Cards in Envy challenge! This time the challenge is “Hey Dude”: Create a card for the men in our lives! Make it masculine!!

(A2: Stamp: Doodle Pantry (BBQ Birdie)
I LOVE anything cooked on the grill, so I decided to put Birdie to work on some hotdogs and burgers. The image, sentiment and papers are all from the BBQ Birdie digi set from Doodle Pantry. Masculine cards are so hard to me, but I think this one works. What do you think?

CIE: NATURE CALLS

Hello crafty friends! Welcome back for another Cards in Envy challenge! This time the challenge is “Nature Calls”: Create a card featuring things found in "nature" either living or inanimate objects.

For this card, I chose an image and a sentiment from two Doodle Pantry sets. The image was flipped around and copied so I would have two sets of cattails. The sentiment is from Only God. Once I had the image and sentiment like it wanted them, I printed and colored with Copic markers.

CIE: PRETTY IN PINK

Hello crafty friends! Welcome back for another Cards in Envy challenge! This time the challenge is “Pretty in Pink”: Create a card featuring mostly shades/colors of PINK.

(A2: Stamp: Great Impressions (A140 - Simple Life); Cut file: Silhouette Studio; Paper: Heidi Swapp (Dreamy))
I have been looking for a way to use this paper and decided to do inchies for my background. I used a fuchsia base, cut the squares and attached them. I added a simple little strip, a paper flower and the sentiment. (TIP: When making a multi layer flower, use thin paper and glue. Do not use glue dots! They add a LOT of thickness to the flower and make it inappropriate for mailing. For the center, just use a punched circle and glue it on. Dots and pearls add too much thickness too)

CIE: CHILD’S PLAY

Hello crafty friends! Welcome back for another Cards in Envy challenge! This time the challenge is “Child’s Play”: Create a card for kids.

When I was growing up I always heard the adults asking us kids if we had “ants in our pants”! Well, that is exactly why I used this as a card for a kid. I digitally paper pieced the pants and colored the ants and clothes pins with Copic markers. All of the patterned paper is included in the digital set, so I just printed and cut and added some stitching. I hope you like it!

CIE: SPRING IS IN THE AIR

Hello crafty friends! Welcome back for another Cards in Envy challenge! This time the challenge is “Spring is in the Air”: Create a card with Spring colors, flowers or Easter designs.

(A2: Stamp: Great Impressions (B246 - Happy Everything and G499 - Sweet Chick); Distress Ink; Copic Markers; Die: Lawn Fawn)
This card was so much fun, but it did take a bit of masking to do it. First I stamped the image on the card stock and again on a Post It. I colored the one on the card stock with Copic markers and fussy cut the other one to use as a mask. Next, I used a border die from Lawn Fawn to create a mask for the grass and sky. Using the masks, I added DI to color the sky and grass and then stamped the sentiment. I mounted the image on a shiny lavender card stock and used foam tape to attach it all to a green border. The card front was then attached to a white cover stock base.

Now it is time for you to join in the fun! Here is the link for you, just remember your card must be A2 (4 1/4” x 5 1/2”) size and no thicker than 1/4".

(A2: Stamp: Verve (Making a Statement, Loopy Blooms Die Set, Rounded Scallop Frame Die and Grace Plain Jane); Other dies: Spellbinders; Cut File: Silhouette Studio)

I decided to go with a feminine collage this challenge. For my bow, I used my Cameo to cut a paper bow from coordinating paper. The base is splattered with Distress Stain (using a paintbrush).

CIE: PUPPY LOVE

Hello crafty friends! Welcome back for another Cards in Envy challenge! This time the challenge is Man’s Best Friend”: Create a card featuring man's best friend, the dog—ok….maybe a cat too.

(A2: Stamp: Great Impressions (F582 - Potted Puppy and A147 - Buzzing By); Paper: DCWV (Fashion District)

I love dogs! My little Cocker Spaniel, Joy, is so much fun! She keeps me busy playing, in fact, she will come up and make me leave my craft room later this afternoon so we can play!

I chose this sweet little image by Great Impressions and used one of their sentiments with it. The flowers, grass and flowerpot are painted with Twinkling H20s and the puppy is colored with Copic markers.

CIE: GOING GRAY

Hello crafty friends! Welcome back for another Cards in Envy challenge! This time the challenge is “Going Gray”: use primarily gray on your card!

(A2: Stamp: MFT (Vertical Greetings); Paper: Simple Stories)

I don’t think I have ever made a card using primarily gray, but I like how it turned out! I stitched in black for a bit of contrast and used charcoal card stock for matting. I decided to add one touch of color with the flower.

(A2: Cut files: Silhouette Studio; Die: Martha Stewart; Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon; EF: Cuttlebug)

I decided to make a sentiment banner for my card. The white panel is dry embossed and attached to two MS borders. I made another small border and added red distress ink.

CIE: CHRISTMAS CAROL CHALLENGE

Hello crafty friends! Welcome back for another Cards in Envy challenge! This time the challenge is a Christmas Carol challenge. That’s right, make a card based on your favorite Christmas Carol/Song.

I know, too easy, right? My song is Jingle Bells and these Doodle Pantry ants are working as hard as they can to get ready for Christmas. Through the use of computer magic, I merged the holly swag from Seasonal Swags and just duplicated it a few times to make the “tree”. I then merged the ants hanging on a bell and moved them around so it looks like they are hanging the bells in the “tree”. Then, I opened the ants on the bell and the ants carrying a bell in Silhouette Studio so I could trace, print and cut them out. I cut several and layered them to five a little dimension to the card.

Now it is time for you to join in the fun! Here is the link for you, just remember your card must be A2 (4 1/4” x 5 1/2”) size card no thicker than 1/4".
