Hello again friends. Popping in with my Viva la Verve card for this week. This is the one for the VLV  August Week 2 sketch.

I wanted a humorous birthday card that could be for a male or female. I kept the colors more towards masculine but still had some polka dots and chevron patterns. I colored the hound dog with Copic markers and added some bling from Verve. I hope you like it!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!

Hello sweet friends! Today is July 4th so that means Independence Day! I am so proud to be an American and love our country so much. I am sharing one of my last Any Hero cards with you today.

I stayed with patriotic colors, but chose this cute set for this card. It is true that I am a huge fan of our troops and am so proud of them! Anyway, I thought I would share this card with you today so I could also wish you a HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!  Stay safe and enjoy the fireworks!

CASology 153: POP

Hi dear friends. Thanks for stopping by! Today, I am sharing my card for the CASology challenge. The theme this week is POP:

(A2: Stamps: Great Impressions (Party Cow -  F585) and Paper Smooches (Salutations); Die: Fawn Lawn

 

When I read the cue word, the first thing I thought of was a balloon popping, so I used this cute cow image. I used my Copic markers to color him and the sky and decided I would add some green DP to represent the ground. I bent the sentiment on the block to match the flow of the die cut. I hope you like this card!

Hello to all of my Great Impressions friends! Happy Friday! Let’s start the day with a card using a couple of beautiful stamps from Great Impressions!

(A2: Stamps: Great Impressions Stamps ( E837 - I Miss You and E807 - Queen Ann Lace)

This week, we are highlighting a Great Impressions tutorial and I chose Kendra’s Painters Tape Technique. I decided to do an ombre background using the tape and various greens. I then stamped the Queen Ann’s Lace in black and stamped it off a few times. Last, I used the sentiment and masked off the lower portion of it to just get the I Miss You part. I added some hearts and dots and mounted on black then yellow. What do you think?

GREAT IMPRESSIONS JUNE CHALLENGE

Hello to all of my Great Impressions friends! Thanks for stopping by to see my DT card for the Great Impressions challenge! 

(A2: Stamps: Great Impressions Stamps (F609 Party Protector, E868 – Wow and E819 - Cake)

ANOTHER COW! He is just as adorable as can be! I colored him with Copic markers and fussy cut him. I stamped the cake (masked out the stand) and added a few more candles. This was also fussy cut (the candles are stamped directly on the yellow card stock). Spellbinders were used to make the frame and oval background. I added some rhinestones to resemble drops from the extinguisher and added a bit of twine to finish.

Hello to all of my Great Impressions friends! Happy Friday! Let’s start the day with a card using a fun, new stamp from Great Impressions!

(A2: Stamps: Great Impressions Stamps (J117 – Mable & Vera Cruzn and C478 – Wild!)

Mable & Vera decided to take a road trip this month and as you can see they are having a ball! I colored the image with Copic markers and then sketched in the background and colored it with Copics also. To make the sign, I cut two “wooden” posts from card stock, stamped the sentiment, chomped the corners and drew a line around it similar to a road sign. I popped the sign up with pop dots. On the car, I used Crystal Accents on the headlights, windshield and glasses lenses. I hope you enjoyed the card!

GI and HOUSE OF CARDS

Hello to all of my Great Impressions friends! Great Impressions is sponsoring the challenge over at House of Cards! The beautiful inspiration photo is below and here is a little inspiration for you.

The image panel is watercolor paper. I stamped the image and used a water brush and ink to color it and the bee. I added some spatters and light green for the background and stamped the sentiment. A few dots and some matting finish this card.

For this card, I used an embossing folder and added distress ink. I cut large ovals and stamped the sentiment on the smaller one. I added a little ribbon and a couple of flowers and that finished off this fairly simple card.

This week we are focusing on birthday cards with a twist! I decided to make the frog my “twist” by coloring him with Copic markers, fussy cutting him and attaching him to one of those little plastic springs. I also added googly eyes to add to the effect. The flowers are paper pieced behind him. The sentiment is part of the same set.

Hello to all of my Great Impressions friends! Happy Friday! Let’s start the day with a card using two new stamps from Great Impressions!

 

(A2: Stamps: Great Impressions Stamps (D500 – So Very Special and F607 Sparky Pondering)

 

There were a few steps for this card, but I like how it came out. First, I stamped the image and the sentiment. Then I masked them and used a stencil and VersaMark to create the chicken wire in silver. I also added a touch to the top left. I then used a dauber and DI to add color behind the wire. Last, and with the mask in place, I used a small paintbrush to spatter paint in the white space. I matted the panel with olive green CS and added a green ribbon tied in a knot.

Hello to all of my Great Impressions friends! Happy Friday! Let’s start the day with a card using two new stamps from Great Impressions!

(A2: Stamps: Great Impressions Stamps (H265 – Mable and Vera and D498 – On My Mind)

I don’t know about you, but I fell in love with these two sweeties! After I stamped that adorable image, I colored it with Copic markers and added a little gel pen on the necklaces, glasses, etc. I fussy cut them and used foam tape to attach them and the sentiment to the yellow, dry embossed background. All of that is on a green panel which is matted with purple and mounted on a white card base. A strip of ribbon and some dots complete this card.

The background in the picture made me think of doing a Bokeh background for my image. I loved the tub of flowers in the image so I took inspiration from that and used the Spring Flower Tub from GI. I used Copic markers and gel pens to color the image and heat embossed the sentiment onto the frame.

GREAT IMPRESSIONS MAY CHALLENGE

I just love this sweet image.  After printing the image and sentiment, I colored the image with Copic markers. I used old flowers stash to create the flower (note, use glue instead of glue dots to keep the flower flatter). The hot pink panel is dry embossed and the image is attached to the card using foam dots.

Hello to all of my Great Impressions friends! Time for some May flowers! We have had a really cool spring so far. I’m hoping that means a nice summer!  Well, I’m starting the month with a birthday card using Great Impressions  G280 -Happy Birthday Giraffe.
 

(A2: Stamps: Great Impressions Stamps (G280 -Happy Birthday Giraffe)

Isn’t he adorable? I used a balloon stencil and Copic markers to make the panel to the left. I also used Copics on the image. The little balloon brads were a gift and they were perfect for this card! I added a bit of ribbon and a couple of little flags at the bottom. This is all mounted on a shimmery lavender colored card base that is lined with white paper.

CASE-ing CHRISTMAS #18

Hello dear blogging buddies! Welcome back to In a World of Craft  and another CASE-ing Christmas challenge!

(A2; Stamps: Great Impressions (G440 - Chickadee on Winter Branch); Heidi Grace; Cut files: Silhouette Studio; Die: Spellbinders)

Today, we are CASE-ing Mynn’s amazing card. I just adore polka dots, so I stayed with them for the background. I also kept a bird and oval sentiment tag, but went with more layers and twine instead of ribbon. I used Copic markers and a white gel pen to color the image.  I hope you like my card.

This was such a fun CASE! I hope you have fun with it!
