SHAVING CREAM CASE AT TTT

Hi sweet friends!  I’m so happy you stopped by today.

This month at Technique Time Tuesday, we have been playing around with a really fun technique called Shaving Cream.

I have to admit, I love making a mess when I craft and I feel right at home when I have ink or paint all over my hands. This super fun technique lets all of my inner messiness out.

As the monthly hostess, I get to CASE a card from the linked creations.

I have to say this was a hard decision! I finally decided on this beautiful CAS card made by Nance Salkeld  at Soul Stampin’ Designs

I fell in love with the white on white embossing topped by that gorgeous rainbow colored heart.

I kept the white on white, the embossing, the colorful element and the purple for the sentiment, but I used a butterfly instead of a heart. I really had fun CASE(ing) Nance’s beautiful card. Thank you for sharing that lovely inspiration with us Nance!

CONGRATULATIONS Nance! Don't forget to pick up your badge for being CASEd on Technique Time Tuesday!

Remember you still have a week left to join in the challenge. Here is a link to the tutorial (click here) and thanks for stopping by!

hugs,

TECHNIQUE TIME TUESDAY CHALLENGE: SHAVING CREAM BACKGROUND

Wow! It’s that time again…..it is TECHNIQUE TIME TUESDAY and this month I am the hostess! What fun! That means I have a prize for the winner of our challenge this month! Here is what you are playing for:

For the challenge, I chose the Shaving Cream technique because I love making backgrounds and this one just smells so good!  What is that you say? Well, it is just the most fun because you get to mix shaving cream with dye ink!!!! Here, let me show you my card then I’ll give you the link to Mynnette’s tutorial!

(A2; Stamps:My Favorite Things (Vertical Sentiments); Flower: Silhouette die cut; Border punch: Martha Stewart; Die: Spellbinders)

I received a new camera for Christmas and I am still trying to get the settings like I want them. This photo is a little yellow compared to the green in the card, but you get the idea. The pretty swirly background is that shaving cream with green and a little pink swirled in. The first time I tried this technique (I think last  year), I was amazed at what was left on the card when I wiped all of the shaving cream off. I’m sure you will want to see how this works, so please check out Mynnette’s tutorial here and then get all messy with us and show us your creation!

Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget to show us your project for a chance to win my prize package!

TECHNIQUE TIME TUESDAY CHALLENGE: TRIPLE STAMPING

If you haven’t already been on my blog this year, then let me wish you a Happy New Year! Since today is the first Tuesday of the month it is time for TECHNIQUE TIME TUESDAY with my dear friend Mynnette Kitchen! This month’s technique is Triple Stamping and I’m sure you will enjoy it. Here is my DT card:

(A2; Stamps: Inspired by Stamping: Little Flowers and Fancy Tags; Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon: Ink: VersaColor; Paper: CutMates (Olive Oil and White Flour))

I just love Triple Stamping so I was excited to do this technique again. I used Little Flowers from IBS instead of one big stamp. I love the effect of the vines and flowers and added the tag using IBS’s Fancy Tag plus the sentiment from Little Flowers.

To see how to make a card using this technique, go see Mynnette’s video at Technique Time Tuesday. Then make sure to link up your creation so we can all see it.

Thanks for stopping by!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hi all my sweet friends. I hope you are well on your way to being ready for Christmas! It is so hard to believe another year is almost gone, but here we are on the first Tuesday of December so that means it is time for Technique Time Tuesday! This month you get to choose your favorite past technique, but you will need to hurry because the challenge ends on the 15th! I chose to do Faux Silk again because I love that technique.

(A2; Stamps: There She Goes stamps (Snowy Days); Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon; Lace: Inspired by Stamping; Dies: Spellbinders (Circles) and Paper Smooches (border); Punch: Martha Stewart (Snowflake); Misc: Copics, “silver beads” from AC Moore, rhinestone, scrap paper)

This time, I uses white tissue paper and colored the image, but used a light blue paper behind it that had a start on it. Can you see it peeping through behind the dog?  I used the curved border die from Paper Smooches on the bottom piece of DP, the green border and the white layer. I curved the TSG sentiment to fit and stamped on the white layer. I then used a 1/8” piece of double sided tape and laid the beads along the edge.

To see how to make a card using this technique, go see Mynnette’s video at Technique Time Tuesday. Then make sure to link up your creation so we can all see it; but don’t forget, you only have until the 15th! Merry Christmas!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hi sweet friends! It’s time again for TECHNIQUE TIME TUESDAY!  YES! A video tutorial of another awesome technique from my very sweet friend, Mynnette!

This month’s gorgeous technique is Faux Frame!

(A2; Paper: Momenta (Jack Frost); Stamps: Hampton Art (Outlines); Verve (Ornamental Christmas); Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon; Die: Spellbinders (Labels Eighteen and Fancy Tags), Memory Box (Clouds); Punch: Martha Stewart (Snowflake))

This is a very easy and fun technique, so I hope you try it out! I love the “frame” around my snowman, which is colored with Copics and a gel pen. I used a baker’s doily for the base of the focal point, added Spellbinders and topped with the little snow clouds. Hope you like it!

To see how to make a card using this technique, go see Mynnette’s video at Technique Time Tuesday. Then make sure to link up your creation so we can all see it!

HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hi sweet friends! It’s time again for TECHNIQUE TIME TUESDAY!  YES! A video tutorial of another awesome technique from my very sweet friend, Mynnette!

This month’s gorgeous technique is Faux Cloisonné!

(A2; Paper: Glossy magazine page, cardstock; Stamps: Inspired by Stamping (Christmas Greetings) (Delicate Doilies), StampinUp! (Gorgeous Grunge), Inkadinkado (swirls); EP: Inkadinkado (Pearlescent), Sparkle N Sprinkle (Winter White), Ranger (Gold)

OK, you have to admit that doily looks beautiful embossed in gold atop the magazine page! It doesn’t seem to matter what the picture is as long as you get the colors you want. The embossing just works magic!

For the background, I used more embossing, white-on-white and clear pearlescent. I added some randomly placed crystals for more glitz and mounted on gold metallic paper. Hope you like it!

To see how to make a card using this technique, go see Mynnette’s video at Technique Time Tuesday. Then make sure to link up your creation so we can all see it!

This month’s totally awesome technique is Faux Silk!

(A2; Paper: Standard gift wrap tissue paper, cardstock; Stamps: Rubber Stamp Tapestry (Pumpkin Border Set) and (Thank you block stamp); Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon)

I know you are going to see this technique again because I love it! The effect is very subtle so I am providing a close up so you can see it better. I just love peg stamps and they were perfect for this fall card.

Happy Birthday

Hi sweet friends! I can’t believe another month is here AND this is the first Tuesday so that means: TECHNIQUE TIME TUESDAY!  YES! A video tutorial of another awesome technique from my very sweet friend, Mynnette!
This month’s technique is Smackin' Acetate Technique and here is my card.

(A2; Paper: MME (Follow your Heart – Be Amazing); Stamps: Inspired by Stamping (Ahoy Matey) Inkadinkado (map);  Border: Paper Smooches; Dies: Spellbinders; Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon)
I used the technique on both the map and the ship. I think it shows up best on the map though. I used Paper Smooches border die that looks like waves of water and then used a small strip of the “negative” at the top of the card. Spellbinders are layered under the map. The ship and sentiment are popped up with foam tape.
To see how to make a card using this technique, go see Mynnette’s video at Technique Time Tuesday. Then make sure to link up your creation so we can all see it!
