MAKE MY MONDAY

Hi y’all! Well, after seeing how far behind we are on cards for Operation Write Home, I dug in today and got a few done. This is my first post so check back to see the second one.

This card is for Make My Monday’s blog color challenge.

I intended to make this CAS, but alas, I just could not stop embellishing! The stamped image is from Doodle Pantry and is on a Spellbinders Beaded Oval. I added light blue rhinestones on each of the “beads”.  A Cuttlebug embossing folder was used on the dark blue panel, and turquoise paper forms the base.  Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, a flower from Inspired by Stamping and ZVA crystals finish it off.

FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES AND MORE!

OK Ladies! This is a reminder to watch for blog candy next week! My blogoversary is next week and I am working on putting together some blog candy to celebrate. And, I would like to take a second now to say WELCOME to my new followers!!!! I am so happy to see some new faces and hope all of you will come back often.

Now, let’s get to the point and see this card!!!!

I used Freshly Made Sketches for this card and the color challenge from Make My Monday. I will link these below.  The papers are Craftwell, embossed sentiment from Inspired by Stamping, Cuttlebug embossing folder and my new toy!!! I have the new Sizzix/Hero Arts stamp & die-cut Framelits set called Butterflies #3.  I know most of you are already familiar with this concept because you use a lot of SU! products but basically this is a stamp set with a set of die-cuts (framelits) from Sizzix that match the stamps.  I used Stamp School white cover weight cardstock for the stamping.  Some stitching and a little bling and this card was done!

Thanks for stopping by!

MMM Colour Wheel Challenge - Week 2

Happy “hump day”. I hope your week is bright and cheerful and full of craftiness!
Today I have a card for Make My Monday:

If you also follow Mynnette’s Technique Tuesday, you will recognize the technique I used (Faux Pressed Flowers), but alas that was last month’s challenge and I only made the card today. That is why I am now getting more organized with my cardmaking.  I combined that technique with the Make My Monday color challenge for this week (Orange, Purple and Green).  The sentiment is from Rubber Stamp Tapestry and the border on the oval is from Inspired by Stamping. A touch of ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon is behind the sentiment tag.

I have to admit I wasn’t too sure about this technique, but after seeing the final result, I know I will use it again and again! If you have not tried it, please do. It is easy and gives a very interesting finish to a CAS card.

I hope you enjoyed the card. Happy crafting!
