THANKS

Hi crafty friends! Do you ever have one of those weeks where nothing goes as you expect? That has been my week and that definitely means not much crafting time. Yesterday, I finally got a few minutes to spend in my craft studio and here is the card I came up with. It is for the Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge for March week 3.

I know I am a week late with this card and St. Paddy’s Day is gone, but I still wanted to go with the green theme. I added some pink and came up with this thank you card. The circle of DSP is from a paper pad called London Market.  The background stamp is from Inkadinkado and the sentiment is Paper Smooches. I always love seeing randomly placed crystals or pearls, so I decided to give it a try… I don’t know if I will ever get the hang of it.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you liked my card.

HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS

***This is my second post for today. Please click here or scroll down to see the first one.***

I love Christmas, although it was a lot more fun with children around.  It is so much fun making cards and listening to Christmas songs.  Just gets me in the mood too decorate the house!

This card is made with a new paper pad called Vintage Christmas from Whimsy. I just love the muted colors and the beautiful designs. When I saw the Viva la Verve week 2 sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to use.  I was a little nervous when I first saw the sketch but I do love how this card turned out.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

THE WORLD IS FULL OF BEAUTY

Happy FRIDAY!!!!! WOOT, WOOT. Well, Hurricane Sandy is bringing us a rainy day and weekend so maybe I will get some crafting done! For those of you in her path, please take care and pay attention to those alerts.

The technique challenge at Splitcoaststampers is “Cut it Up” and the theme at CASology is “wild” so I decided to try out my new stamps from Lavinia Stamps. This one called Tree Goddess “Luna” and, to me, she looks wild and free sitting on her tree limb in the moonlight.  I colored her wings with Gelly Roll pens and added gold rhinestones on her head. I punched a circle, masked and rubbed DI to make the moon. The sentiment is also from Lavinia Stamps. A few rhinestones scattered around in the sky give the illusion of stars.

I am entering this card in these challenges:

SPLITCOASTSTAMPERS TECHNIQUE CHALLENGE #2

As promised, this is the second card that was inspired by the Splitcoaststampers technique challenge TLC399.  The difference is, this one does not use any stamps on the background, so I’m not sure if it really technically fits the challenge, but I do want to show you what I did! (PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE MY FIRST ONE!!)

Now, I told you my DH thought the last card just looked like a Hallmark (that was NOT a compliment lol) but he loved this one.  I used the same acrylic block coloring and then used cardstock and DI to create the “sun rays”. I tipped some of them with tiny rhinestones. The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping.

SPLITCOASTSTAMPERS TECHNIQUE CHALLENGE

Woot! Happy Friday crafty friends.  I just have to share my email news this morning! Sandy Allnock from Operation Write Home forwarded an email to me from a woman who received one of my cards from her soldier!!!!! It was amazing to hear from someone who received one of my cards and to know how appreciated it was. Thank you Sandy for letting me know!

I am finally getting around to sharing my technique challenge card for Splitcoaststampers.  Actually I have two cards to share so please stay tuned for the second one!

This technique is called Acrylic Block Collage (click on the technique to see the instructions on SCS). I used Distress Inks for the background, then stamped with a Stampendous stamp in Distress Ink (Tea Dye) to complete the background. I then used Inkadinkado’s Wildflowers stamp and stamped in Distress Ink. The papers are DCWV  and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I love the way the background turned out, but my DH thinks this just looks like a Hallmark card Sad smile What do you think?  OK now, don’t forget, another card will be up very soon!!!! Please come back to see.
