THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE

Hi dear friends. I am popping in for a quick post to share my Paper Smooches card for this week.

(A2: Stamps:  Paper Smooches (Circle of Honor); Die: Spellbinders; Star: Heidi Swapp)

I wanted one more AnyHero card to go in my Operation Write Home box, so I used the PS Circle of Honor sentiment to make this simple card. I had inked the star in Brick Red a while back and never used it. So, I added Blue Denim and ended up with a deep blue that worked with the papers.

Thanks for stopping by.

MM364: THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE

Hello  dear friends! I have a quick post today to share my card  for the Mojo Monday challenge:

(A2: Stamps:  Verve (Thank you) and Stampers Best (Thank You For Your Service Rubber Stamp); DSP: K&Co (Julianne))

I am trying to finish up my September box of cards for Operation Write Home and needed more AnyHero cards, so I chose the Mojo Monday sketch and came up with this. I wanted to stick with fall colors so I used the DSP from K & Co and mounted on a dark brown card base. I hope you like my card!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!

OWH MID-MONTH THROWDOWN: HEARTFELT THANKS

Hello dear friends!  Here is my card for the Operation Write Home Mid-Month Throwdown. Once again I have made an AnyHero card because there is no one better to show my gratitude:

(A2: Stamps: Verve (Bountiful Harvest), Inspired by Stamping (Hydrangea and  Ahoy Matey), Fiskars (Dotted Flourish))

I love the new schedule at OWH! Instead of a mid-week throwdown, they are doing a mid-month one. I never seemed to get around to the Wednesday challenge.

This weeks sample card is gorgeous and is made by Joanne Travis whose blog is Sleepy in Seattle. I decided to CASE her card keeping the elements, but placing them differently. I stamped the pumpkins three times and paper pieced them to add dimension. I also colored with Copics. I first stamped them on the card panel for placement and so the little squiggles would show without being fussy cut. Then I stamped them twice more to color and fussy cut. Since I was fussy cutting, I didn’t have to mask (yeah), which always seems to take a couple of time for me to get like I want it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Here is a link to the challenge and a photo of the sample card so you can join in the fun!

DOODLE PANTRY & SWEET SKETCH WEDNESDAY 2

Hello my Doodle Pantry friends I’m so happy you are back for a little more Doodle Pantry inspiration! Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and here is my take on the sketch:

(A2; Digital stamp set: Doodle Pantry (Carousel Horse 6); Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon)

For this card, I chose the newly released Carousel Horse 6 and used the pre-colored version. I want this card to go to Operation Write Home, so I altered the sketch and made it an A2 card. I added a lot of stitching on this one and finished it off with a strip of ribbon and some blue rhinestones.

I hope you enjoyed my card!

Hello to all of my Great Impressions friends! Welcome back for more inspiration from the Great Impressions store! It is the FIRST Saturday in August, so you have plenty of time to play in our August challenge which starts tomorrow! OK here is my card. Hopefully it will inspire you to enter your own creation in our challenge!

(A2: Stamps: Great Impressions Stamps (Home and Sentiments Set - OWH104); Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon; Copics)

If you are a follower of my blog, you know I support Operation Write Home and that I am an Army Mom. Well, when I learned that Great Impressions was going to have stamps to support OWH, I was thrilled. This is one of the three sets that are available from Great Impressions and a portion of the sale goes to OWH!

So this is a CAS version of this card. I colored the image with Copics, stamped the sentiment and placed on blue and then red card stock and tied a strip of ribbon around the panel. It is all adhered to a dark blue card base.

OWH235: THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART

Hello dear friends!  Here is my card for the Operation Write Home sketch. Instead of an AnyHero card, I made a card for a specific soldier who is leaving the Army soon. I just want him to know how appreciated he is and how much I appreciate all he has done.

(A2: Stamps: Paper Smooches (Many Thanks); DSP: MME (Follow Your Heart); Dies: Spellbinders (Scalloped Square and Circle), Taylored Expressions)

Right now, I know so  many of our soldiers feel unappreciated because of many issues they are facing, but this one soldier is one I know and I can at least send him a card. I wanted to keep it masculine but cheerful too, so I hope I accomplished that. I love the sketch this week! Thanks for another great one!!

OWH234: SINCERE THANKS

Hello dear friends!  I fee so honored this week! Operation Write Home used my card (here) to create this week’s sketch!  How awesome is that? I made another AnyHero card again this week:

(A2: Stamps: Paper Smooches (Many Thanks); DSP: MME Memorable: Dies: Spellbinders (Scalloped Square and Circle); L’il Inker Designs (Stitched Heart)

I used a bunch of the stamps from Many Thanks to create the design on the circle and two more stamps to create the sentiment. Some stitching and I pretty much followed the sketch, so really easy card.

Thanks for stopping by!

OWH232: ANYHERO AND SUMMER

Hi my blogging friends! Happy Monday! I am popping in with a really quick post to share my Operation Write Home cards.

First up is my AnyHero for this week:

(A2: Stamps: Verve (American Hero); DSP: Heidi Swapp (Favorite Things))

OK, I keep saying I am not buying any more DSP until I use up what I have, but I saw this 6x6 pad and just HAD to have it LOL. Oh, did I say it was on sale? How can a girl resist! I really love the colors and patterns and decided to use this for a summer AnyHero card.

(A2; Stamps: Doodle Pantry (Cheeseburger Ants COLOR plus)

Next up is a summer card. I already had everything printed and ready to make a card, but have not had time to make it. So, I decided today was a good time so I can get it in this next box and beat the deadline for summer cards.

Thanks for stopping by!

OWH231: LAND OF THE FREE…..

Hello my dear friends! Happy Tuesday and Happy July! Are you all ready for the Independence Day celebrations? I am making AnyHero cards this week, that is when I have time. I am also working on a quilling project. Anyway, here is my card for today:

(A2: Stamps: Verve (American Hero); DSP: Scraps)

I think American Hero has gotten more use than any other stamp set I have! For this card, I heat embossed the sentiment on the red card stock. The base panel is a piece of one of those Tim Holtz emboss resist papers. I used blue and red DI on it and stitched it to a red border. I pretty much just followed the sketch and added a bunch of stitching and dots and stars. I hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by!
