YOU ARE MY REASON WHY

This week we have a CASE challenge for you with a gorgeous card by Lee Conrey (card below) and here is my DT card.

I decided to make the focal panel smaller but tried to stay with the same colors. I colored my stamp with markers just as Lee did, then spritzed with a little water and stamped. I changed the sentiment stamped it in the same place and added the row of pearls under it. Instead of rounding the two bottom corners, I rounded one on the bottom and one on the top.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MYNNETTE!

Surprise! Today is my good friend Mynnette Kitchen’s birthday and we are having NOT ONE, BUT TWO  Blog Hops to celebrate!

One blog hop starts at Technique Time Tuesday and the other at Inkspirational!!! There are prizes too! I’ll give you all the deets on the blog hops after we see Mynnette’s card!

For the Technique Time Tuesday blog hop we each chose our favorite technique for this year. I loved the Dahlia Fold that is our May technique, so I chose it. For the Inkspirational blog hop we CASEd one of Mynnette’s cards. The one I chose is shown below.

And, this is the inside of my card.

I used the overall layout of Mynnette’s card but used a different embossing folder and instead of three butterflies, I used one larger one. I also added my sentiment on the face of the card.

SAD NEWS

Hi my sweet friends. I’m just taking a moment to let everyone know why I am not around visiting your blogs and leaving comments.
My dear Dad passed away Monday morning. He had been suffering for over 9 years with Alzheimer’s Disease and peacefully passed into Heaven Monday. I miss him terribly, but I know he is so much happier and healthier now.

This is Dad and me on a visit to Nashville, TN.
I promise I will be visiting all of you again soon. I just need some time to work through this. I have cards that I had already made that are scheduled to post so you will see cards posting.

FOLLOW YOUR DREAM

These stamps are all from Waltzingmouse’s Half Pint Heroines stamp set.  I was inspired by the colors in the balloons (in real life they look more like the colors in the photo!) in the inspiration photo and wanted to do a little twist on the balloons.

YOU ADD COLOR TO MY LIFE

Today Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the Sister Act Card Challenge with a theme of Anything Goes!

These adorable painting ants have been very busy! I popped up the green paintbrush, and three of the paint cans to add dimension to the card. The image is pre-colored so that was a time saver! The DP, image and sentiment are all from Doodle Pantry’s Easter Egg Ants digital stamp set.

SENDING YOU LOVE

Hi friends. I could not sleep so I am taking a few minutes to pop in and share a card I made last weekend and just have not had time, nor energy to post. Dad’s ashes are supposed to arrive at my house today, so I don’t really know how I feel this morning. Maybe that is why I am up early.

I am entering this card in the Less is More color challenge and chose yellow-green and violet-red off of their color wheel. The die is from Memory Box.

THANKS AND A DAHLIA FOLD FLOWER

Hello sweet friends! It is the first Tuesday in May so you know what that means: TECHNIQUE TIME TUESDAY!  This month, Mynnette has gone all out and made a video of the technique!

This month’s technique is the Dahlia Fold Flower and it is beautiful! Here is my DT card:

The Dahlia may look complicated, but it is rather simple. It is made from a series of 8 circles, plus one for the base. Mynnette’s video makes it so easy to see how to make this flower. I like that the final product is still pretty flat and should go through the mail without a problem.  To see how to make this Dahlia Fold Flower, go see Mynnette’s video at Technique Time Tuesday.
