CELEBRATE

Hi sweeties! Wow, I just got back from walking Joy and it is getting cold! It looks like after today we are going to have some chilly weather for about a week. Well, in the 40’s and to me that is chilly! This card was so much fun to make and it came to me as I was waking up one morning:

(A2; Stamps: Paper Smooches (Zoo Crew, Sentiment Sampler), Fiskar’s (Dot Flourishes); Dies: Paper Smooches (Zoo 1, Zoo 2); Inks: Smooches, Ranger Distress Stains, Memento)

This week, Paper Smooches has a color challenge. After thinking about what to do, I woke up the other morning and thought the flourishes would look like a celebration, and I could use the challenge colors. The hippo and leaves were cut out using the new Zoo die cuts (I just love them!).

I am also entering this at Addicted to Stamps and More where they are looking for the use of markers. I used my Copics to color the hippo’s toes, tail and tongue, a Sakura gel pen for the eyelashes and a Pilot white opaque for the teeth.

Thanks for stopping by!

MAY YOU BE FILLED WITH PEACE, JOY & HOPE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

I just love that sentiment from Inspired by Stamping! Not only do I love what it says but I think the fonts are beautiful.  Here let me show you:

(A2; Stamps: Inspired by Stamping Christmas Greetings and Fancy Labels Eighteen; Die: Spellbinders Labels Eighteen; Paper: The Paper Studio Old World Winter; Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon; EF: The Paper Studio; Other: baker’s doily, pearls)

This week is a color challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, using Kraft, red and white. I  used a Kraft base and then make 3 strips. The middle one is also Kraft which I embossed with the EF. I stitched all three strips on the base, added the doily and then stamped and die cut the sentiment focal point. The bow and pearls complete this vintage card.

THINKING OF YOU

Hi sweet friends. I hope you are having a great week! Just a quick post to share my Less is More submission this week.

(A2; Stamps: Hero Arts, Paper Smooches; Paint: Twinkling H2Os; Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon)

This week is a color challenge. The colors are rust and dark green. I had just received this rust ribbon from RRR and decided to go for fall leaves with a touch of ribbon. I stamped the Oak leaf, masked and then stamped the Poplar leaf. They were then painted with Twinkling H2Os and the sentiment was added. This little panel was placed over the ribbon strip with foam tape and three little pearls were added. Thanks for stopping by!

JUST BECAUSE I LOVE YOU

Hello sweet friends! Happy first Wednesday in September! Since it is the first week of our Inkspirational challenge month, that means we've got a color combo for you to be {ink}spired by!
Here is my DT card:

(A2; Sentiment: Verve (Take Note) Tag: Paper Smooches; Paper: Simple Stories (Sn@p); Border punch: Martha Stewart)
This is a very different color combo for me, so I had to think a bit to decide what to do. I actually love how this turned out, with the bright cheery colors and the fun tag. I used my craft knife to open a portion of the banner and heart image so I could slide the blue and white panel into it, rather than cover it up.
Hope you enjoy! Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to click the link below to go right to the challenge at Inkspirational! I’ll be looking for your creation!!!

CHRISTMAS WISHES

Happy Monday sweeties! I have a couple of posts for you today, so here we go with the first one. I only recently found 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and I think I will be participating in as many challenges as possible! You can never have too many Christmas cards, especially when most of them go to Operation Write Home!

(A2; Stamps: Heartfelt Creations (tree), Verve Ornamental Christmas; Die: Silhouette America (poinsettia))

The challenge is to chose a previous color combo (I picked Green/White) and a previous sketch (see below). I embossed the tree in green and then cut my little rectangles. I wanted to create the idea of looking out a window with snow falling. So I added some dots of Stickles. (I tried Flower Soft, but it came off. Anyone have a secret for that stuff? I even used the Flower Soft glue). I stamped the sentiment, cut the pennant tag and attached using foam tape. Lastly, I cut the poinsettia on my Silhouette and attached.

Thanks for stopping by!

YOU ARE AMAZING

Hi again! Here is the third (and last) post for today! Please scroll down to see the other two!

This card turned out to be a lot of fun to make. I don’t usually combine challenges, but these three worked perfectly for this card.

(A2; Stamps: Inspired by Stamping (Heartfelt Gratitude), Hero Arts (bird image); Lace: Inspired by Stamping; Copics)

Operation Write Home has a great sketch this week, which I used for this card. I combined that with Inspired by Stamping’s color challenge (IBSIC63) and Cards in Envy’s “For the birds” challenge. I colored the image with Copics.

Thanks for stopping by!

THANK YOU

Hello sweet friends! I am seriously trying to wrap my head around the fact that August is here and going FAST! I love the holiday season but really, does it have to keep coming like a freight train? Oh well, lots to do before Christmas!!! For now though, time for some {ink}spiration!!!

It is the first week of our Inkspirational challenge month and that means we've got a color combo for you to be {ink}spired by!

Here is my DT card:

(A2; Sentiment: Verve (You and I) Tag: Eclectic Anthology; Pearl swirl: ZVA)

I love the tag image from our Sponsor, Eclectic Anthology. The soft, romantic colors fit perfectly with some of my paper scraps. I think I have my sewing machine working properly now, so my stitching looks a little better on this card. Aren’t those champagne colored pearls yummy?

Hope you enjoy! Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to click the link below to go right to the challenge at Inkspirational! I’ll be looking for your creation!!!
