Hi cuties! I am a little behind getting these cards posted. This is for Operation Write Home’s* Midweek Throw Down Challenge which is to make 2 cards: One card for Dee….it can be a thank you for her service to OWH, or a cheerful hello, or a Scripture verse to encourage her.And the other would be a card of encouragement for a hero to send home.
Dee Nixon, one of OWH’s founding members, is stepping down from the board for health reasons, so Sandy is throwing a Card Shower for her. I am honored to be a part of thanking her for making over 12,000 cards for our troops.
I chose to use OWH’s Sketch 124 for Dee’s card. I just love this layout and thought it was perfect for the Hero Arts sentiment which is colored with Copics and embellished with dark blue rhinestones, then mounted on DCWV and Craftwell card stock.
DCWV The Linen Closet paper was used under the sentiment panel. The blue strip was punched using a Martha Stewart border punch, then embellished with Washi tape and gathered ribbon from RRR.

For the second part of this challenge, we are challenged to make a card of encouragement for a hero to send home. I chose CAS-ual Friday’s CFC56 Create a Clean And Simple project using polka dots. .
I used my new toy, Martha Stewarts Punch Anywhere on the Page Petals and Hearts to create the border on the left and placed a dark brown polka dot paper beneath. I used the same paper for the base of the butterfly and the reverse side of the paper for the butterfly top.
The flower is paper pieced from the same paper and the leaf is a scrap of polka dot. The sentiment is an old stamp and I’m not sure who made it (Inkadinkado maybe?).

All of your cards are absolutely beautiful! I really love the punches on the second one. Stunning design. Thanks so much for playing with us at CAS-ual Fridays!
Your cards are beautiful, I love the vibrancy of the colours you used on the first one and love the gorgeous little butterfly on the second.
Love how you used your MS punch and added your polka dot paper beneath. Your butterfly paper is fab, too! So glad you could join us this week at CAS-ual Fridays!
