GARDEN BEHIND THE GATE: IBSIC #17

Hi crafty friends! I hope the weather has cooled off for y’all and you are getting much needed rain. We have had that for the last three days and expect more of the same tomorrow!

I am really excited about my ONE YEAR blogoversary on July 25th!!! I cannot believe I have been blogging for almost a year! Be sure to check back because I’m thinking there will be candy!!!!

OK back to business! Today’s card is for several challenges so let’s go to the card first, then I’ll give you the challenges:

Tell me; what do you do if you cannot find that just right piece of cardstock to finish your card? My go-to solution is Rubber Stamp Tapestry’s tapestry stamps.  If you are a regular on my blog, you know I love using them and that is exactly what I did on this card.  I didn’t want a white panel where the sentiment was going and I could not find any paper with the colors I needed, so I used stamps and made exactly what I wanted!

Here is a close up because otherwise you cannot see all of the subtleties of the stamping.  I really used several types of stamps on this card, and different cardstocks (including some scraps) so instead of trying to list them here, they will be listed in the shopping list below.

The flowers are handmade using seam binding for the pink and ribbon for the blue. This card is for Operation Write Home so I was trying to keep the card profile as flat as possible. Since the flowers are ribbon I think they will be fine for mailing.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just beautiful, Ellen! It's great that you could keep your signature touches of elegant floral beauty on this, but still keep it flat enough for OWH. :) Thanks for playing with us at IBSIC!!
