OK. I MADE THIS BOX. NOW WHAT?

I love this little box! I was wandering through Susan Walton’s links at Rubber Stamp Tapestry and looked at Boxcleva where I saw this adorable little box that she had made. Well that was it! I had to learn how to make it.

So, here is my version of that little box. It is about 3 inches square; not very big at all.  I used the “African Daisy” set on a sheet of light pink cardstock and loved the outcome, however I felt that the box needed something extra. Something to make it feel a little more substantial and to give it that “pop”. So back to work….

I wanted to give the box a shiny finish so I decided to try heat embossing using Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel™ to create a finish that almost gives the impression the paper was laminated.  It was my first time using heat embossing to create this type of finish so I was a little nervous starting out. Once I put the heat gun to the paper though, I was amazed at how the artwork just popped!  The colors became more vibrant and the details really stood out. I used 2 coats to give the finish a nice smooth surface.

I can see making cards with matching envelopes and boxes to use for gifts. I just wonder though….what would you put in this tiny box?  Suggestion? Comments…I LOVE COMMENTS!

Have a great day and stop by again for more fun In a World of Craft!
