TSTR WEEK #82–A SHABBY AUTUMN

Hello all my crafting friends! Welcome to In a World of Craft where I will be showing you my entry for this week’s challenge at The Shabby Tea Room: Week #82 - 'A Shabby Autumn'. .

This week’s challenge is awesome! I love fall colors and Autumn is my favorite season so this is a fun challenge for me.  The challenge is to create a card or project inspired by the photo with an autumn or fall theme.

Here is my card

Thanksgiving pumpkin

And here is the inspiration photo

Isn’t that inspiration photo just adorable? I love the little pumpkins and the reflection of the candles in the window. It makes me think of our wonderful Autumn evenings here in North Carolina.

My card started with just basic brown cardstock which I embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I only embossed the bottom half of the paper and rubbed gold ink over the embossing (just enough to bring out the embossing).

I then added two strips backed with a metallic orange cardstock. One is stamped with the Pumpkin Border Set from Rubber Stamp Tapestry and the other is embossed with two Cuttlebug embossing folders (the small ones with one flower on it).

The “flower” is made from a tan grosgrain ribbon and then inked on the edges with Bark VersaColor ink.  A dark red pearl finishes it off!

The medallion is made using two sizes of Spellbinders Label Two. The larger one is colored with Green Tea VersaColor ink, edged with a dark green pen and dotted around the embossed line with the same dark green pen. The smaller one is colored with Narcissus VersaColor and then stamped with the Pumpkin Border Set.  The sentiment is on a small scrap of striped paper backed with a scrap of orange.  The small shapes positioning template from RST was used to create the diamond and the sentiment is RST’s Happy Thanksgiving Block Stamp .

So there is my card based on the inspiration photo. I hope you like it and will leave comments!  Please stop by again soon and have a wonderfully crafty week.
