OWH DIE CUTS & PUNCHES

Hi cuties!!! I hope you are having a crafty Saturday. I know a lot of you were expecting bad weather, so if that is the case it is a great day to craft!  As for me, it is chilly and cloudy but we are slow cooking a pork shoulder on the grill.  It smells sooooooo good, but it is our first time cooking one on the grill so I hope it turns out ok.  When I take Joy out, I can smell it for most of our walk!  Nothing like smelling your dinner cooking all day….really whets the appetite!

Over at Operation Write Home the mid-week throw down challenge theme is Die Cuts & Punches!  We challenge you to make cards that use die cuts or punches for our heroes to send home to their family and friends!

I bought some new Memory Box dies and had fun using them for this challenge! Here is my card:

OWH Dies & Punches

I used two new Memory Box dies on this card. The top border die is called Plush Border Die. There are actually 3 of the flourish cut-outs but 2 fit perfectly on the short side of an A2 card, so you can use it on either side.

The other Memory Box die on here is the light and airy Quinn Flourish Die.  It is so much fun to use!  Under it you can see the Spellbinders Floral Doily Motifs die cut in blue and the small yellow die cut on top of the ribbon. A small silk rose that I purchased at AC Moore completes the medallion.

The sentiment is made using some old stickers I had on hand. They are on an oval die cut using the Spellbinders Presto Punch.  The butterfly is the EK Tools Butterfly stamp.

I also used an old pre-cut piece of chipboard on the lower corner. I have had that stuff so long so I am trying to use it up LOL. I liked the way the wavy edge sort of coordinated with the negative die cuts at the top.

Complete details are listed below, so please scroll down if you want to know more about this card.

I am also entering this over at SCS in the Inspiration Challenge IC322 ~ Charleston Gardens. Judy always comes up with AWESOME inspiration sites and I was drawn to the blues and yellows in this rug. And of course the butterflies!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my card today and will leave comments before you leave! Thanks for stopping by….

hugs,

Ellen

Love this card, Ellen! I just bought this Memory Box Quinn Flourish- LOVE it. Are you having any trouble getting it to cut through the entire thickness of your paper? I have been struggling.
