Hi sweet friends! I’m so sorry my posts have been limited this week, but it has been crazy here. This week the weather has been phenomenal; I even had to get out some summer clothes. It looks like this week will be a rerun but it makes me wonder when reality will set in and the weather will go back to normal. Oh well, I’ll enjoy it as long as it is here!
So with all of that said, you must have guessed I am in the mood for spring to get here, and my card today reflects it. I have been playing around with inks and techniques, two of which you can see on this card.
The background of this card is made using the Wrinkle Free Distress technique and Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I also die cut an acrylic sheet and used Adirondack’s alcohol inks to color it.
After making the background, I stamped it using Distress Inks and Rubber Stamp Tapestry’s NEW Miniature Meadow Set . If you have not checked out RST’s site lately, you should definitely look now at all of the new sets! These wonderful stamps are incredibly detailed and mounted on pegs with a positioning mark for precision placement in your “component stamping” technique.
The sentiment tag is a Spellbinders die cut that is stamped with a Rubber Stamp Tapestry block stamp (Thank You (Fancy) Block Stamp ). An eyelet and old safety pin were used to attach the sentiment to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Satin Fun Flower Emerald ribbon. The crocheted trim was made by me.
NOW FOR THOSE CHALLENGES:
This card is going into two challenges:
RRR Challenge #44 - Spring with Ribbon Theme
Nina Dee's I {Heart} Ribbon challenge
In addition to these challenges, I made this card for:
Mynnette’s Spread the L-O-V-E challenge since this will be sent to our troops and will make it’s way home to a friend or loved one.
This card will also be sent to:
*Operation Write Home: Supporting our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them.
