STAMP ‘N SEND CHALLENGE #1

HAPPY DAY, OH HAPPY DAY!!! The sun is shining! Oh yes it is, for the first time in two weeks! It is just not natural for the sky to be cloudy for so long and it has been hard on me. I have felt so tired and unmotivated the last few days and now I know why. The sun was missing!!!!

Plus, what a surprise when I saw Donna Nuce’s comment this morning telling me I had won Mojo Monday 261!!! If you want to see that card you can click here to go to my post.

During the WCMD bloghop, I stumbled onto a link to a new challenge; the Stamp ‘N Send Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  I love this challenge because it fit right in with my Operation Write Home work. Here is my submission for this week.

I don’t think I have ever attempted a Deconstructing Jen sketch, so this was a lot of fun and I love how it turned out.The papers are from DCWV and MME with lots of stitching on the panels.  The focal panel was made from manila paper using a resist technique with an Inkadinkado stamp. I embossed the image with clear embossing powder then used Adirondack alcohol inks and Perfect pearls. Once colored, I wiped the image with a clean cloth. The flowers are from Inspired by Stamping and were colored with DI. The Peace stamp, from Rubber Stamp Tapestry, was heat embossed with Red Inkadinkado embossing powder. Oh, I almost forgot! The larger panel under the focal one was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

This is the first time I have used alcohol ink with a resist and I love the way it turned out. What do you think?  This is an AnyHero card that will be sent to a deployed military person, through Operation Write Home, to send Christmas wishes and thank him/her for protecting our great nation!
