Hi again. I have so many cards to share and just seem to have a hard time getting time to post them. This is my second post for today, so if you missed the first one, please scroll down to see it.
If you follow my blog, you know I am getting ready to go see our son graduate from Army Basic Combat Training. His Company has a Facebook page and his 1st Sergeant has been wonderful about keeping us informed about what is going on and providing pictures of the guys going through training. I know this takes a lot of time and effort so I really appreciate what he has done. It has certainly made this much easier to handle!
Well, I decided to make an AnyHero card for him and I made a card for his Drill Sergeant (click here to see it). On Thursday I missed the mail carrier, so I placed them in the mailbox for the next day. That night, Grant called to have us extend our stay since he will have a weekend pass (woohoo) and I told him about the cards. He almost had a stroke!!! I didn’t realize it, but if I send these cards, they will have him doing pushups for hours while they laugh at him! OMG!!!! I went straight to the mailbox and retrieved those cards jiffy quick LOL! I will just mail them when we come back and he is safely away from them.
This adorable image, sentiment and patterned paper are from Doodle Pantry’s Patriotic Turtle (precolored of course!). I used Craftwell card stock and a strip of Recollections that I embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Some Versacolor Cardinal ink was swiped over the embossing.
The frame was made using Spellbinders Classic Squares LG. The 1st Sergeant rank insignia was hi-res clipart based upon graphic from Army Institute of Heraldry website that I downloaded from here.
This is the inside of the card with a Stamper’s Best stamp: True Soldier Rubber Stamp Fundraiser Stamps.
THIS CARD QUALIFIES FOR THESE CHALLENGES:
DOODLE PANTRY: DPDC23 THEME: Use a Doodle Pantry image
I also made this card for:
Mynnette’s Spread the L-O-V-E challenge:
*Operation Write Home: Supporting our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I am always so happy to see that you have been to my blog. Please leave comments so I know you were here! PLEASE HELP ME GROW! If you are not a follower yet, would you please click follow?
hugs,

Good thing those cards did not yet find their way to your son. Whew! Who knew, right??
I love the sentiment about the fighting soldier. I never heard it before, but it is so eloquent. :)
Love the card,it looks perfect for a military man and I love the sentiment on the inside! Thanks for joining us at the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge #23
Glad you retrieved the card before it was sent - for your son's sake:O)!
great cards there. I donate cards to the cancer kids in the Texas Cancer center and it is rewarding as well. I will look for the address of the one your sending to and my send some there too. Thanks for the inspiration.
What an awesome card - I can't imagine that would have gotten him push-ups! Good thing you saved him from the humiliation, right?! I'm sure the sergeant will appreciate the thoughtfulness and the sentiment once your son is safely far away - LOL
